Konate leaving apparently.

That’s more cash they have to spend to replace him.

Not sure why they let Quansah go for relatively cheap

Let’s be honest Liverpool under Klopp were top quality.
Hated them at the time because we we competing with them.
two top sides pushing each other to break records.
Watching Arsenal now is really just showing how good both teams were.
They were absolutely immense and the 2nd best footballing side in the history of this league apart from us during the same era.

They’d have absolutely panned any one of Ferguson’s best sides, Mourinho’s Chelsea and don’t even get me started on Arteta’s Arsenal. I know there was some overlap and a bit of a drop off with Klopp for a couple of years but from 2018/2019 for about 3-4 seasons, they were electric.

In hindsight, I respect the shit out of that side, they would keep you up at night in title races. The only reason we’re here with Arsenal is City were in full transition and Slot has fucked it.

Any other previous City or Liverpool side would have mopped the floor with this Arsenal team. They’re playing a different sport to City and Liverpool played it in those years we’re discussing.

So they have lost TAA on a free and now Konate (if reports are true). That’s very poor and now leaves them with a 35 year old VVD and a couple of untried youngsters. Their CB strategy over the last two years has been bizarre.

Scouser at work moans on a daily basis that they didn’t get Guehi sorted and over the line. They were in pole position for 18 months and allowed him to join us for less than £30m.

Bonkers they’ve let that happen, specially with Van Dijk on the decline. Will cost a lot of money to put right, City on the other hand are too heavy in centre backs. I can see Ake going and there is still Vitor Reis waiting in the wings.

In August 2026, BBC Football declared them 'Champions Elect' for 2026-27 without a ball having been kicked, whilst SSN explained that Liverpool could spend so much money on players because they were 'such a well run football club'. No one could say that now.

It is mental from them, it’s like they’ve lost the plot with their squad planning and strategy.

I think next season will be one of the most unpredictable ever.

I have no idea of how City will do and Liverpool and the rags are similarly unpredictable.

I would like to see a crackdown on the grappling based set pieces and think that may happen as it has damaged the "product" this season with Arsenal seemingly disliked by everyone bar their own fans.
Howie Boy has it all mapped out.

Konate's head has been elsewhere this season & just running down his contract but i think he's a decent player, just not next to an obviously rapidly aging Van Dijk

I can never respect a side who benefitted so much from referee/VAR largesse and had a winger who would have bested Greg Louganis in the Olympics. They also routinely disparaged us ("we win the proper way") and hacked our scouting database. They also were not particularly consistent. They only challenged us for the title twice. On that score, the Scum were as big a threat. And that's all before we even get to their fuckwit fanbase. One of my lasting pleasures is we caused them repeated nightmares. In short, fuck them and fuck them over again.

They think we benefited from VAR. The truth is neither benefited to the tune we’ve seen Arsenal benefit this season.

They challenged us in 2019, won it in 2020, challenged us in 2022 and were not far off again in 2024. I make it 4 seasons they were challengers.

United weren’t even close to being a threat, have they actually finished within 10 points of us in that time until this season?

We had two 90+ point finishes, that went down to the last day against Liverpool.

Discount 2024. They fell off before the run-in and finished well in arrears. They challenegd 3 out of Klopp's 9 seasons. Hardly stuff of titans.

Even if we go with that, they were immense in those 3 years and Klopp spent fuck all in comparison to everyone else.

We defeated him overall, it’s ok to dish out a bit of respect to a great side.
