So; who's your money on to win it now? With Sinner and Djokovic knocked out, and Alcaraz missing the tournament through injury, it's wide open now, shirley. Zverev, possibly?
I’d like Fonseca to win.

Never seen him before this match and don’t know if he’s just played the match of his life or whether he’s an up-and-coming star, but I really enjoyed watching him.

It says a lot about women's tennis that at the age of 44 is seeking entry into the Wimbledon tournament. Can you imagine any male ex champion trying his luck at that age. As for demanding increased prize money or equal pay let them have their own tournaments and see how many turn up.

If this is his last French Open, it was a great match to go out in.
I interrupt my vacation in Ireland to comment on the highlights I just witnessed today.

All props to Djokovic for a gutsy match today, but as a Nadal fan, I am shedding no tears tonight and thank Fonseca for his service. If he goes on to win it all, then good on him.

Can he win? Absolutely. We've been hearing about him and his potential for a couple of years now, and today was the first big one I can remember him winning. His returns and serves in the 5th set were pretty stunning to watch on the highlights I was able to see.

Cerainly Zverev has to be the favourite of those still left, but I am good now with whoever wins at this point. Don't sleep on Mensik either.

Either way, we're going to have a first time French Open men's winner, and for tennis, that's a great thing. I'm partial to Tiafoe or Nakashima on the other side, but really feel like the men's winner will come from this side of the draw, no matter how tough it looks.

There's a freshness with men's tennis in not knowing what is coming next. Can't wait to watch it live next week once home.

He's up-and-coming and maybe, just maybe, he's about the reach the potential that other commentators have seen in him, that I had yet to witness until today. Is he capable? I'd say so based on who is left, but Zverev has to be hungry and feeling like this is it given how close he has come before with other top seeds now gone.

I can't imagine what losing now would do to Zverev mentally given the opening he now has in front of him. If not now, then when?

Where are you in Ireland, if you don"t mind me asking?
Leaving Killarney today and on our way to Dublin for the rest of the weekend.

Have had great weather this week overall, despite it being a bit more hot for most earlier on.

Too busy with activities to watch the tennis thus far, but planned to be tuned in next week for both Men's and Women's matches.

Svajda takes down Cerundolo in the 5th set, while Tiafo is still battling Faria in the 4th set. Hopefully Francis realizes the potential on this side of the draw.

Plenty of Italians still left this side of Sinner with Cobolli and Berrittini still strong contenders on that same side of the draw too.

Lots of women's contenders falling today with Gauff and Anisimova both going out. You'd have to favor a Swiatek vs. Sabalinka final at this point, but I'm hoping Svitolina can pull this out.

Well, Swiatek gone as well!

Wonderful to see the next generation coming through. Heavens, the men's game looks like it is going to raise the standard yet again.

There is no greater joy in sport for me that the emergence of incredible young talent.

Well, there's one semi-final locked and loaded. After what the 20 yr old Mensik showed today vs. Fonseca, why not?

It has the potential to be a great match.

Was Raducanu in it this year? Always like watching her for a bit of tidy totty to look at but I've been out of the loop this year.

She got a new coach yet? She's had more than National Express

Zverev is an abusive piece of shit who punched his ex girlfriend in the face and tried to choke the mother of his child.

I hope he loses, it does destroy him mentally and he never gets near a grand slam.

Couldn’t believe that result today, won the first set and 4-1 up in the second then loses 10 games on the bounce to go out of the competition. Sabalenka definitely got some issues going on there for coaches to sort. It’s not even as if it was a high pressure final.

Both singles draws wide open now!
