All things Jack Grealish

I hope he comes back to us and says he has been to Rehab, and is using Paul Merson, Tony Adams and Gazza as proof that they all have been to prison, been to Rehab or twatted their wife and still got to play for England again and are called legends/Maverics. Its funny how no footballer ever has had the grief that Grelish gets every time that he has a beer.

Bryan Robson, Paul McGrah, Norman Whiteside, George Best, Razor Ruddock, Ray Parlor, all alcoholics but are celebrated and never criticised!

Not one of them have won more trophies in their careers than Grelish won in 3 seasons at City. It baffles me how he is described as a failure who ruined his career at City
No camera phones and social media in their day

The last thing the new manager needs is someone who comes with all the extra noise that Grealish brings.

Under Pep it didn't matter, he dealt with it and our performances meant no one cared anyway. But the media will be circling like vultures waiting to pounce on anything and claim there's unrest within the club or that there are bigger issues.

Grealish had his time with us and remains a very good player, but we have to move on now.
Thing is when you have spent 100m on a player it aint as simple as that

He signed for 100m on a 6 year contract with wages of 300k a week so over the length of his contract it's around 30m a year we would have accounted for. Get 30m for him and remove the 15m(ish) wages from the books for the year and it's a win for the club.

I don't want to see Grealish back.

Nothing to do with his 'lifestyle' or whatever people think of that, and I love the guy as a person of the club.

But purely as a player, he has had at most 6 at a push 7 months where her was actually the player he is expected to be. Out of a total of 36 months playing here.

Just don't seet the point of bringing him back, and don't think he would do what people hope.

That said, if he does end up back, 100% behind him.

As I’ve alluded to, and I don’t believe I am alone in this, a far far greater concern is the member of the club’s medical team who is going around giving out personal health details of club employees to people off the internet.

Some people want Jack back, some don’t. Comme ci, comme ça. In the great scheme of things, and of this club’s forward trajectory, it doesn’t make an earth shattering difference either way. Great players have always been replaced etc.
What is a major concern however is the leak of Jack being a functioning alcoholic that “the club have stated”. This goes directly to the heart of the club and if what you say is true, and I have no reason to doubt you, then City has a major issue within the walls of the club that we have somebody in a position of trust who is gossiping about player welfare.
As the person who was given the news that Jack is a functioning alcoholic it is, I would say, incumbent upon you to report this to the club hierarchy, and if said leaker was a member of the medical team (as presumably they are by dint of them diagnosing Jack as a functioning alcoholic - not something a non-medical person would be able to diagnose) then further reporting to the relevant professional boards would also be prescient.
I thought most people on the planet believe Jack is a functioning alcohol. Hardly the disclosure of a state secret.

Look at him. Look! He's one of us. He found his home at City. City 'til we die, right? Or are we now City until your usefulness has run it's course? We should be rallying around him, helping him get better. You can talk about Jack's ability, but one thing you can never doubt him on was effort.

I'm not giving up on the lad just yet, not when you can clearly see what us and this club means to him. A fresh spell at Everton and look what he did for them. He loves his football, but he's a confidence player. Confidence is up, given free reign and you can see he's got it. Stuck in a formation, playing a 'role' and it stifles him. I think of a fit Foden and Grealish roaming behind Haaland and I see potential.

I'm rooting for him. When his commitment starts lacking, then and only then will I say Jack's time with us is done. But i've not seen that yet, what i've seen is a lad who wants desperately to repay us Blues with good performances, but is doubting himself and is his own biggest critic. A Jack Grealish on form has only ever benefitted City, why would we not want that?

I would think most people believe he’s just a normal lad who’s lived the life most British lads do through their 20s (just with more money): likes a drink, sometimes gets too pissed, but due to who he is sometimes gets snapped by the papps out and about doing it.

Is it what a professional athlete should be doing? No. But does it mean he’s an alcoholic?

Read plenty of times on here Foden had all these secret physical ailments.

Some people always try to find excuses or create a narrative around a player when there is a loss in form or non-selection.

If Grealish had half the issues some said he had, he wouldn't be able to get out of bed in the morning and would have forfeited half his annual wages in fines.

The truth is the lad, just like Foden, is emotionally sensitive and sometimes lacks the coping mechanisms for not playing every week.

In regards to both players, certainly Grealish, he spent 16 months picking up innocuous injuries and just couldn't get back the rhythm, which is essential to play every week for Pep and a squad which had Doku and others vying for contention.

Grealish showed at Everton that he can perform when empowered to, exactly as he did through the Treble season.

On top of everything else, he suffered a home invasion with his pregnant missus and family upstairs at the time.

If Jack is wanted back, I would gladly have him over others who have a £40m/£50m price tag in the market place this summer.

The lad, despite everything, showed up for Pep at the Arena and that speaks volumes about his character and, more importantly, a lot of the supposed rumours are just that.

Guys it’s pure nostalgia to think Jack can do a job for us. We need to move him on. I hope he can revive his career but it won’t be at a top club. He’s going to be like sterling after city at best.
