The Twilight Samurai (2002)
In 1860's Japan, a low income Samurai nicknamed "Twilight" is thrust into a new role as a single parent due to the passing of his wife and struggles to raise his two daughters. He is then forced to take up his sword by a recruiting clan to kill a famous Samurai who has refused to kill himself after his masters death.
A real hidden gem in the Samurai genre, that does for modern Samurai films what Unforgiven (1992) & The Assassination of Jesse James by The Coward Robert Ford (2007) did for modern westerns. A deeply moving and slow paced film set during the final days of feudal Japan.
