Enzo Maresca

I don't know what the Chelsea position is, just that it keeps coming up. If they've sacked him and he's no longer employed by them in any way I don't see how what he does now has anything to do with them.

If they thought City had tapped him up then surely that should have been dealt with at the time?
Only place I’ve seen it are posters in here, nowhere else. Well Simon Jordan, but he’s a dick.He probably was tapped up and we’ll deal with that if the PL charge us with it,but doesn’t mean he’s still contracted to them.

I think he broke his contract and he cannot be employed until he reaches a settlement with them.
It is rumoured that we may stump up the money that Maresca owes Chelsea

Thought it was in his contract that he had to tell them if he was talking to anyone else. He informed them, they fired him.

At least that was my understanding when he got fired!

BBC reported that “Enzo and the club concur that a change offers the best opportunity.”

Totally wrong. You still have to get to the final and do what you have to do to gain those trophies. If he wasn't any good they likely wouldn't have got that far. If they weren't a great side then it's an even bigger achievement.

Nobody is suggesting they're major trophies, but it's about having a winning mentality, that's the point that everybody is missing.

As for Leicester they are a big club compared to many (they were big enough to win the Premier League title), and they were in total disarray when he took over. He cleared out the deadwood and many thought he had made a mistake but he got them promoted with 97 points.
I don't think you can say "totally wrong" on an opinion. But I guess you think you can.

It would have been harder to lose in the conference league than win it.

Leicester is a rugby town.

They didn't sack him, he left them because they wouldn't do things he wanted them to do.
As you suggest Maresca and Chelsea's board fell out and the relationship between broke down after it was reported that Maresca advised the Chelsea board that City had contacted his representatives. There are reporters with City and Chelsea connections claiming that this is still an issue.

He's a moron for doing that. I believe he said it to call the bluff of the Chelsea hierarchy and they still stuck to their guns. He'll likely cost us, or himself, a few million because of it

They 'parted ways'. That was the term used in the reports. So neither sacked nor fired, mutual agreement.
The link in the story says he "quit".

Either way, I don't see any reason why we have to pay chelsea anything. They can report us to the PL, but what are they going to do, charge us ?

Hahaha.

The key question is what City said. If they just asked whether the fallout meant Maresca might be on the market in the forseeable future then it is in no way tapping up.

If, on the other hand, they said if you orchestrate your way out of your well paid Chelsea job we will get rid of the best and most successful manager the Premier League has ever seen just to give you a position then that probably would be.

Which scenario sounds the more likely to you?

That chelsea team wasn't great. I know people keep thinking that winning a summer friendly cup and the conference league of europe against ajkhyenn_athens and baraggyecth of riga is success - but it really isn't. It doesn't mean he isn't good, but please - can we stop with the idea that those two cups meant anything at all. Also Leicester is not, and never will be, a big club.
He also finished 4th with that Chelsea team
