Then this is a different conversation entirely. Kroupi has never been a wide player, even at Lorient he was predatory and scored most of his goals from the middle, and I'm just not sure that we could accommodate him and Haaland in the same team. We'd be back to the situation with Haaland and Alvarez.Kroupi didn’t play as a central 9 much for Bournemouth mate he played a lot from left and number 10. I’d be prepared to have the conversation with Cherki and Foden and use them right wide at times rotating in and out of the 10. kroupi could cover for Haaland in the middle too as he will need a rest and usually misses 6 weeks a season with injury. I like Marmoush but would sell him and Savinho to get Kroupi in a heartbeat.
Controversial opinion - Doku and Semenyo aren’t good enough as the main first choice wide players to get us back for competing for the champions league in the next couple of years we need one more better than them both - not easy to come by I know and well aware most won’t like the view point.
Doku and Semenyo are certainly different to the likes of Grealish and Mahrez, but I wouldn't rush to judgement yet. Everything will now hinge on the midfield signings and the temp Maresca sets. If we sign real runners and he demands the ball be moved forward more quickly than Guardiola was comfortable with, then the wingers and Haaland will have more space. They'll also have to do more running as well, though, so the idea of Haaland managing 4,000 minutes becomes less sustainable. Maybe there will be room for a second striker after all.
