Interesting. I'm guessing that will push capacity to 56k+ and then 62k+ when the North Stand is extended.

I wonder if that takes us over 56,000. By my reckoning we'll be adding 9,000 extra seats over the Summer:

6,000 in SL3. 500 in EL3 & WL3, & 2,500 at front of all 4 stands. Might have exaggerated the 2500 at front of the 4 stands. There's also the unknown of how many seats were lost in the build. Capacity went down to 46,700 at start of season, but some seats eg at back of South Stand were recovered at the end of the season.

I am going for 47590 less 400 lost with widenings of isles add 6000 add 300 not 500 plus 90 per block at front rows x 30 - 2700.

Gives us - 53490 plus 2700 - 56190. I won't be far out with that.

I'm sure I'm in a real minority, but I think the cladding / exterior looks naff - but I'll reserve final judgement until it's finished in case they pull something out of the hat.

I keep hoping the exterior cladding is 'temporary' until the Family / North stand is done, then they'll give the entire stadium an exterior makeover.

The artists impressions showed a few 'electric blue' lighting bands wrapping around the cladding (to line up with the bands of the spiral walkways (which also appeared to be lit) - but I don't think that's going to happen.

As long as the ticket prices are made affordable, I won't care if the outside is wrapped in tinfoil or pebbldashed. It's what happens inside that matters.

Wow! We will have the best looking stadium in 3-4 years and even with the south stand done its cost i believe £80m!!! We should be grateful for what is already being done mate and appreciate what it will look like anyway.

It's not about being grateful or not, it's a subjective comment on the aesthetics.
It won't be the best looking stadium. It's a great stadium but I think it's wide of the mark to think it's the best looking. Each unto their own and all that, but I think Emirates, Olympic Stadium and Wembley are all better lookers (imo)

I really like the look of the expanded side. It gives off more of a colosseum vibe rather than a generic new glass building look like other new stadium.

My last post pretty much opposes this.

Personally think Wembley looks like a generic office block from the outside. If it wasn't for the arch it would have no personality whatsoever.

I think one of the things people forget about our stadium is that it's actually a whole level taller, but because the pitch is below ground level you don't see that scale from the outside.

You been to the new stand? It's absolutely huge even with a level being below ground. Easily one of the biggest stands in the league now.
