Interesting video from the Financial Times (there's been a fair bit of praise from this paper towards the city recently).
There's a few shots of the Etihad expansion which might be of interest:

Class combover, proper throwback

A Peter Swales look-a-like.

Had the very same thought but he couldn't be more unlike him.

I'll always remember Bernstein on the Maine Rd pitch when the ceremonial signing of the contract to move to the new stadium was done. His combe over had flipped over and was blowing in the wind like a flag lol.

Bit of a follow up article to that video. Its a bit long but interesting all the same. Nice to read these articles of late that don't fall into lazy stereotypes:

Disunited Kingdom: UK — a new order?
John McDermott
The extraordinary resurgence of Manchester is the best model for closing the north-south economic divide.

Without wanting to divert this thread the single biggest error that MCC has made in its history was the sale of the Ship Canal Company to Peel Holdings.

Just imagine what they could do with that land and indeed access now and what someone like Sheikh Mansour could do to help.
