Interesting choice of vocabulary Sly News are using to describe this. The brutal truth, they are saying, is there won't be room for Sterling and time is running out for him at Klanfield. Whaaaaa????
Completely arse about tit way of spinning it for their Scouse subscribers. That's right he's now surplus to requirement for the mighty living in the eighties scousepool.

Well if we had paid 40 mil for Sterling, take away the money they owe QPR, & they have just spent it.

I'm bemused at the ridicule we are getting for signing Firmino when we are know for haggling, overpaying for local talent, and bumbling away deals. Can't win.

Also last season you were all saying Sterling is SWP and runs like a girl. Barely anyone rated him, and he was supposedly emblematic of English hype...but replacing with a Brazil international is laughable? Remember we spent 20m on Robbie Keane and Stewart Dowing. This is a better bet.

So far we are doing much better than last summer.

Can't you bob on over to RAWK and get some ITK info on Raheem for us instead of this rot. Cheers

firminio looks a decent buy for liverpool bit we all know it can be 50-50 where brazilians are concerned as to whether they adapt to the league or not (though he looks like he is more than capable of that)

they are certainly not wasting any time in the market this year but is what they are buying going ot push them into champs league places........if they lose sterling to us (which looks pretty obvious to happen) they are losing one of their best players again.

we all know that milner offers loads of work rate and effort and a great attitude but we also all know that his lack of quality in certain areas can be a huge negative as well against the very best

successes are few and far between

It's true, it's your year next year.

In seriousness Firmino is a Spurs player, in that he's quality but not that top quality like Lamela or even Van Der Vaart has been for Spurs in the past. He's an upgrade on what you have, though I'd question how important it was to get him in now which will change the dynamic of the Sterling negotiations. Poor move from the Liverpool board presuming that a fee hasn't already been agreed (and a good one from them if it has).

You've just broken the Bundesliga transfer record quite probably under the presumption that money will be incoming from Sterling. If we decide to walk then you're in a bit of trouble with the rest of your transfers as you don't have essentially unlimited money like the CL teams

Of course you can't win. At least the media spin it positively for you. We've ruined football, we've ruined numerous amazing English players (how well exactly have Rodwell and Johnson done since we sold them on?). We overpay for every player and it's only now that fees are absurd that we've seen some praise for the Yaya Toure signing. Apparently he wasn't worth anywhere near what we spent. Meanwhile Rooney mugs the rags off repeatedly for more and more money despite their club never having to pay because players are so desperate to play there.... not a peep.

We've signed Sterling now and that's why Liverpool have finalised this deal, it allows them to claim Sterling hasn't a place there anyway and soften the blow when he goes. Firmino is a decent player, not as good as Sterling but with the potential to form a very good bond with Coutinho. When Sturridge is fit he should play ahead of Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana - lots of ability and trickery there. It's a lot of money, but that's football these days.

Plus his wages/food tokens/laundry bill for the rest of his working life added to the total
And they'll share several "amusing" anecdotes about how "desperate" we were in negotiations while releasing "formatted" call logs to reflect the repeated, frantic contact over the deal. That before stating that they were always going to seep Sterling as they could see he was never go

are the darker blue ones the successful ones?.

Seriously though...signing for Liverpool is akin to joining David Koresh on his reservation

If I was a young player i'd avoid that club like the plague

Absolutely no class when it comes to letting players leave

Would laugh my balls off If City pulled out and left them squirming till the end of the transfer window. Looks like they have already spent the money they haven't received yet and I can't see JW wanting to pile a load more of his cash in for Brenda & Co to waste.
