I have a question for those in the know about the new SSL3. Apologies if it's already been answered/discussed . The current level 3 stands have the spiral access which makes it easier to get up there, especially for unfit fans (for whatever reason). Given the lack of space behind the SS, I take it fans will have to walk up a series of stairs ala Newcastle away end ? Could be quite an arduous trek for some !

There are lifts, maybe 4 or 5 but the lift shafts dont look to big so the lifts will be small. i think they are expecting most people to use the stairs and or spirals. Getting to the concourse is not to bad using the stairs, its the climb up the 3rd tier thats the killer its steep as fuck and the steps are huge. Feel sorry for anyone on the back row :)

They are getting a free workout with their £299 season cards!

What is the old Police station going to be?

I heard it was going to be the new FA headquarters? They are based at my sons school at the moment MCA Rochdale rd couldn't say if true though...

The Manchester FA relocated last year into Platt Lane along with MMU when City moved out

I would caution anyone who is basing their 100K thoughts on renders etc from 6 or 7 years ago - we've moved on a lot since then and I think certain realities have kicked in - there's been a very public render of an 80K option that we know was rejected and as far as I am concerned if the Etihad was expanded upwards/outwards on all sides it's only good for about 75K unless we get into pitch lowering and put more seats in front of the new three rows in front of the lower tier - I think its about 1000 seats per row max - I reckon that with the pitch lowered another 4 or 5 rows could be fitted in, so again 80K max

Been saying it for ages, stop a lot of the early leavers, even an underpass, opened only on match days.
I don't think the club will change that though, they know that the car park will be full for pretty much every game and they will want people knowing the road will be closed for a while so they will go and have a look round the City store or grab a pint at City square instead!

Drove past this evening, and my life, it looks impressive. Not as impressive as Old Trafford yet, but it's getting there.......

Let's face it, it'll never be as impressive as "The Theatre of Dreams"™ (how could it?) but, considering we're a little club with no history, we're doing the best we can.

Not sure I agree. The modern stadium, huge concourse and the linked Training ground & smaller stadium, not to mention the comfort factor (i.e. not packed in like sardines) makes our stadium far more impressive than the swamp.

United's front entrance / Matt Busby way is pretty impressive (imo), but the rest of it clearly shows years of upgrades upon upgrades and looks pretty poor all in all. Yes, it's a large stadium, but in reality, it's far from a great stadium (architecturally). Inside (concourse) it's typical of most grounds, further inside, it's pretty impressive as an empty stadium, but the seating is cramped to say the least.

We simply have a far more impressive stadium in terms of design and build, but you'd expect that with a modern stadium. By that measure, the Reebok (as was) is a 'better' stadium than Old Trafford.

It would be churlish to deny that Old Trafford isn't about ergonomics. A lot of history lies there, and it's impressively large.

I still feel City could improve the external appearing of the stadium to be more in line with the modern look of the rest of the campus, but it's a minor point really.

It's horses for courses really - Some like Villa Park (or certainly the steps leading up to it), and some like Fulham for the old feel... but we have a modern stadium, and I feel it should reflect a modern thinking club too. That's not to ditch the rest of our history, but simply mark where we've 'been' in contrast to where we are now, and where we're heading.
Tarting up the outside to reflect the slick / polished feel of our club would be a fine move imo.

Khaldoon’s commitment has been matched by the City fans, with a record 39,000 season tickets now sold for the redeveloped 54,000-capacity Etihad.

Another 2,500 supporters who made a £100 downpayment last season on a season ticket are expected to swell that number.

And those figures are likely to get another boost if City get to unveil £150million of new signings.

A club insider said: “Season ticket sales have gone brilliantly and we are likely to have a 50,000-plus average crowd for the first time in our history.”

Daily mirror - positive that we've sold 39k before any signings or is the quote slightly telling in that it doesn't say we expect to sell out every game and says we expect to average over 50k? (I'm well aware I might be looking into something that isn't there for the second one)

Seriously how many would we expect to shift if we signed pogba for a British record fee? Lot of hype with that one especially once the signings start rolling in
