City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

I seem to recall strict monitoring was 6 monthly, but not certain on that.
Could just be for emphasis too, to make UEFA sound like they're still in charge.

Could they take any action based on 6 monthly accounts eg stop City from buying players in the January window? And if so, on what basis?

Otherwise what's the point, unless it is just a PR exercise?

Yes/No/Maybe/Fuck Knows.

As far as I'm aware this story originates purely from a story (maybe only a tweet even) from L'eQuipe (sp) and everyone has ran with it with absolutely no other information added.
It would be staggering if true given how they stuck two fingers up at UEFA and got hammered for a 3 year period for it.

It did cross my mind that perhaps they're trying to drive a wedge between us and PSG as they don't want us combining and taking anyone on together given our total resources.

You were saying ColinLee...

Just to exclude them from future FFP calculations IIRC PB.
The UEFA statement said that we had agreed to exclude revenues from the sale of assets within the group structure in future break even calculations.

The question is, does that refer to any future transactions or those historic ones in the 2012/13 accounts? Because we have to include those results in the next assessment (which is effectively this summer but which can't actually be concluded until next year, when the 2014/15 accounts are officially available).

Surely they were included in the 2013/2014 accounts?

Consider me well and truly staggered...

So does this mean our ban is lifted and we also can now go after our chief summer targets..

You disbelieved it to be true when I posted it yesterday and your paranoia about trying to drive a wedge between us and his father in law... Still staggered..

Not having a pop ColinLee just being a smug twat;)

No it was the ones before but I think it's a false alarm.

The first assessment was based on the reporting periods ending in 2011/12 and 2012/13, which is the one we got sanctioned for last summer. The second, which we had a €20m maximum allowable loss target, was based on the 2013/14 accounts so next summer will be based on meeting the €10m maximum allowable loss target in the 2014/15 accounts.

Had we passed FFP, the assessment for this summer would have been based on the 2011/12, 2012/13 & 2013/14 accounts. Next summer would have been the 2012/13, 2013/14 & 2014/15 accounts. So the summer of 2017, when we're back on a 3 year assessment it'll be from 2013/14. So I think we're ok.

I'm just going to take your word for that PB, my head gets twisted inside out trying to keep financial years, seasons and FFP accounting periods in sync.

In theory, clubs are judged on the last three sets of accounts. So they should include the accounts ending in May or June 2015 in this summer's assessments. But they can't do that as the accounts have to be prepared & audited and that can't be done in time. So they basically defer it for a year as far as I understand it.

Reports are saying that UEFA have officially lifted City restrictions this summer, though some are saying UEFA are planning to punish us next for wearing Blue and that we play in the wrong part of Manchester.

Thanks PB for your interpretation of the complex accountancy and its potential impact on the skewed FFP 'rules'.

Whilst I have been confident that Mr K. has had the whole lot tied up in detail since UEFA imposed the 'fine' by changing its own (not effective) regs. there is always uncertainty.
Logic tells me that UEFA will have had very little room to again change rules to affect just City because of the certainty that Mr K. defined the 'pinch' to the nth degree in legal terms that defied serious changes.
However, I can understand that some of us are still with some justification prepared to feel there may be some truth in the anti City media that understandably wants to sell newspapers.

Please continue to keep us informed of your views, it must have been difficult guessing the real impact with the detail of our 'pinch' seemingly closely guarded by both ADUG and UEFA.

in the media it's like if UEFA didn't announce that we are free of FFP we would be spending peanuts and can't compete!
