Read the post above yours.I don't recall anything over the press about Torres before he put in the transfer request other than that he wasn't for sale.

But shame on Liverpool, right?Good for us if we do.
Why should we make it easy for the seller?
Is losing out on a player who will improve our team worth £5 million? No it fucking isn't. I swear if Txiki fucks up this transfer trying to act billy big bollocks I will brick his windows.
But shame on Liverpool, right?
We're hardly making it difficult when we've gone from being £20m apart to £5m. Any balance of power in negotiations is seemingly not from our side.
Maybe we signed Delph for an HG spot as an alternative to getting Sterling.
That said if we go for Lacazette instead who scousers claim to be their target it would be hilarious!
They'd be stuck with an annoyed player and we'll have taken their top target.
If Stirling was made to 'rot in the reserves', the PFA would be all over it. Won't happen.
Obviously mate.It would all be our fault as well.
Well put. This isn't the right way to go about our business at all. As renown as Txiki is I can't help bit feel Gary Cook was infinitely better at securing big name players.Lol! Have to say even as someone pretty confident Sterling will sign, we seem to be going about this one right arse about face. The past 2 attempts at trying to prove to the world we're not a soft touch anymore lead to Real and Chelsea signing 2 players that would have improved us hugely, and since taking this stance we've not signed a single world class player of note. We've now got potentially 3 hanging in the balance - I imagine that's not easy, especially as two of the clubs we're dealing with are Liverpool and Juventus. Both Sterling and Pogba are, ideally, very long term signings. 5 million in a season? That's a lot of money. 5 million over 10? It's chump change and everyone knows it. Surely we knew Liverpool would go straight to the press kicking and screaming about still being a big club - That honor lasts the rest of the transfer window. Then Sterling starts helping us win titles whilst the dippers continue to fight Spurs for 5th place.. You kind of think we should just sacrifice the battle to win the war.

Just back to the thread after doing some work, and saw this. Why does someone have to be wumming?
There is plenty of contradictory information flying around.
My info is coming from both sides, so it's helpful in a way.
But both clubs have agendas of their own to fulfil.
FWIW, I believe Pollerz figure won't be far wrong when push comes to shove.
We only have three HG players as it is, we need eight don't we?
So what's right for them then in your opinion because you're sending out mixed signals. Hold out for £50m or sell him for less, which they seemingly won't do?Why shame on Liverpool. They'll do whats right for them, we'll do whats right for us.
Can he leave on a Webster Ruling in 12 months time?
If he chose to do that would Liverpool lose out on tens of millions?
It may not be an option Sterling would prefer or even consider. But I wouldnt like to be the executive explaining to FSG how they lost out on £30-40m because "it doesnt happen very often".

Rather walk away then give them the £50m. If it's £45m then fine. Fuck it even £49m I'll be happy with but as long as we don't give them what they said was the lowest they would take I'll be happy.
