De Bruyne?

The De Bruyne transfer for me is a strange one. A quality player yes, but I feel other areas of the team need strengthening and prioritising and the KDB money could be put to better use IMO. I feel we are well stocked in attack, but CM and LB are two glaringly weak positions that need improving this window, if not I envisage another season similar to last.

I'm not the only person with anxieties about Txiki. I don't think he's very good. Not bad, just not great. So do a lot of people.

Christ almighty.

It seems that if you worry about City in anyway shape or form then you're a rag on here! How does that work?

Some of you have real complexes. I readily admit to having anxiety/depression issues in my personal life. Some of you people need to endeavour in a little self reflection because the way you attack others through the anonymity the internet provides seems to point to more underlying problems.

Been the way for years on this forum now mate, never used to be. Transfer Forum used to be a proper laugh, the Tevez thread and in particular that window if you recall was a classic on here. Now if you say anything slightly against the 'favoured' posters or even express an opinion on here you're immediately labelled a rag or attacked. Just the way it is now.

I know I keep coming back to Garry Cook, but how did he manage to close deals at such a rapid rate or so it seemed?. Tevez, Silva, Yaya, seemed to arrive without any delay, but nowadays with Txiki, just a bit of headway in a deal goes on for weeks.

Because he had no FFP to think about could offer what he wanted.

Cook would work on deals months in advance but he wouldn't nit pick over wage demands and other economic elements. If anything Txiki should be applauded for it given the need to structure our financial goings-on, despite how seemingly frustrating it may be for these sad sacs who post stuff like "really very nervous about this one now".

CM is the key, completely agree on that. I think De Bruyne is also needed - especially if we shift to the 4-2-3-1 we saw at the back end of last year. CM would be a priority, but we are clearly chasing both. LB is a bonus, our LBs can do a job, but if we can bring someone in then that'd be ideal.

Cook also had a lot more money to play with than Txiki, we can't offer players 250k a week like Cook used too, has to be done within the constraints of FFP.

Crikey I was all bright eyed and bushy tailed before I came on here this morning but good grief talk about doom & gloom. Txiki getting a kicking on what basis? He's trying to work to a budget and at the same time persuade a club that doesn't want to sell to part with one of the most sought after players in Europe. Give him a break and judge him on Sept 3rd.
I hope some of the people on here never get the call for jury service because I wouldn't like to think my well being depended on their judgements! 31 days remain.

You right he's done a great job giving the likes of kolarov and dzeko bumper new deals so that we can't move them on as no one can pay their wages and his signings to date have been stellar bargains bony for £28 was it and mangala for £32 million? He really knows how to drive a bargain.

I think those deals are pretty much their market value and you can choose to pay it or not. Benteke has gone for more money and he's a very similar player to Bony, if Stones leaves Everton it will be similar money to Mangala.

Thats the going rate you only have to look at the scum buys Fatty left back 30 odd million and and over at Liverpool Benteke for 32m Bony for 26m bargain

You seem well informed. Have you got inside knowledge on exactly what difficulties he has faced & what remit he was given by the Chairman & owners. Or are you making wild assumptions based on KFA

"Apologies for disappearance, didn't intend to scaremonger. Had lawyers on my case incredibly quick and I really can't discuss Aguero now."

Bargain? He's barely played mate. Jury out on him for me. Mangala puts it in but 32mill? He should be one of top 5 defenders in the world at that price.

No more or less informed than others who praise txixi and say how his attention to detail and understanding of ffp are great. You and I know the same mate. My opinion based on his dealings are he ain't great. You opinion is different.

I would just like to say I love Cook but the Tevez saga was one of the most long winded in history. How can anyone say we wrapped that up without delay?

Don't know what to make of this. Hope it's just rubbish but have a bad feeling about it. Maybe because I've always believed if it's too good to be true, it's because it usually is, and Aguero just seems too perfect

He was the top scorer in the prem in 2014 so on merits and compared to Benteke and Lukaku he was bought for a good price. Neither of those have justified their fees yet either. Judge him after this season. Mangala was hot property and Portuguese clubs know how to make money, it was the going rate as we saw with Shaw to the rags. Clyne is a much more complete player than Shaw and Liverpool got him for a bargain.
