De Bruyne?

Bayern now in for De Bruyne, but they reckon Wolfsburg are keeping him for another season. I can't see us getting anyone else in tbqh, seeing as it looks like we've only ever been chasing De Bruyne and Pogba,, both players unattainable in my eyes.

As it stands we still need a top left back, a creative midfielder, and maybe another striker if Dzeko goes. We have enough for a top four finish, but nowhere near strong enough for the later stages of the champs league again.

De Bruyne's said that the PL interests him, but there's no bid, he obviously wants the move but we seem to be taking our time to get it done.

If we really want him, it has to be this year. If he is able to repeat his awesome year at Wolfsburg and have a good EM, many other clubs will be in for him. Now or never.

Perhaps we should get a fucking move on then. The new season starts in 5 days. What a shambles of a transfer window this has been.

So you think a more predictable top four is more significant then? (but only Arsenal is the one you could have bet on making top four out of those teams at the start of the season, in recent years) How about until another team besides bloody Bayern Munich even comes close to winning it besides once in a blue moon(wheey) then the Bundesliga can in no way be considered more competitive "top to bottom"(don't they have it all sealed up weeks before the end of the season more often than not?).

Sorry but... just no. I rate the player for what it's worth but you're totally overhyping the Bundesliga... BPL is better nuff said.
Other than the last few season where Bayern have dominated, the Bundesliga has been very competitive.

What? The BPL is the more predictable top 4 between it and the Bundesliga. Us,Chelsea,Arsenal,United, maybe Liverpool at a push. 3 have won the league in the last 10 years. Same time span there's been 5 Bundesliga winners. So this whole notion that the Bundesliga isn't competitive but the PL is doesn't make sense. Bayern had it sealed up for weeks the same way Jose and Chelsea ran away with the league last season. So again when the likes of Spurs and whoever else can grab a CL spot like Wolfsburg and BMB did this past season from Dortmund and Schalke then you can make the case.

This is a thread about a particular player joining our club that plays in a different league, it would help the discussion if you have actually seen the guy play and how it his skill set could translate and benefit us. And yes, the Bundesliga just launched a new tv deal in the U.S. that started with KDB helping Wolfsburg beat Bayern for the German Super Cup. They also have a heavy Japanese following because of the JLeague stars that crossover.
And since FFP, how many winners of the German league? And by what distance?

It may have been competitive 5-10 years ago. It isn't anymore.

We all like big signings and maybe something is in the pipeline. Got a gut feeling there's not but that's okay. We got Sterling, who is an exciting player by anyone's standards. And we got Delph, who is a steal at the price we paid. If this is the season the club decides to not pay more exorbitant fees and wages and instead decides to give younger players a chance to make their mark then that's also exciting.

We've seen two that look pretty tasty in preseason. My feeling is, we're Manchester City not Utd. We don't expect to win the league as divine right. I'm certain we will be right up there fighting for it. But if we come third or fourth with three future first team regulars emerging then that would be okay. We'd go into the next season with a huge war chest, a stronger squad and probably a new manager.

As a City fan I've always loved to see new talent emerge. It's the selling of them I hated. Peter Barnes, SWP. Great memories.

Not that my gut would grumble much if Pogba, DB or Bale rocked up.

I just went to look this up because you made it out like I was completely wrong when infact for 3 seasons in a row Bayern have won the league by a large margin finishing with 91, 90 and 79 points the lowest difference they could keep it to in the last three years being 10points? Previous years being closer to 20... so yes weeks in advance for three years in a row, what you say doesn't quite hold up with facts in the way does it?

Also it was only in 2010/11 where Spurs did infact take part in the champions league, seems to me you want to pick and choose your time frames and whats important to suit your own blinkered views.

Let me try that then for just a moment... in the last 5 years no BPL Club has managed to win back to back successive titles Dortmund and Bayern(3times in a row) both have.... "you can make a case" if Chelsea manage it this year maybe... until then BPL>Bundesliga.

What makes you say that?
Dzeko and Jovetic did fuck all last season. Actually, they did slightly less than that b

This season we have Bony and Nacho straight swap compared with this time last season. That's a stronger front three this year.

Lampard scored an equaliser against Chelsea, had a great game in the league cup and nothing more. Delph will get more game time and be a better fit. He's the legs we need in tough aways.

Milner is replaced by Sterling, thank fuck.

And that's ignoring the kids such as Roberts, Garcia and Zucculini who will get their first run outs this year also.

I fully expect us to strengthen further before the window shuts. But even if we didn't, we are stronger than 12 months ago.

I think we are about equal on squad strength,we don't need edin and jov in the new system, bony and Sergio will imo be enough ,delph will give us that tenacity in midfield, sterling will be an improvement on milner,he was never good enough for a right winger, and never going to replace any of our central midfield ,two more signings before the window shut,a cm and a dm and we are good to go.

it seems to be the trend to say our desperate need for a lb,but im happy with our players there, yaya will suit a three in the middle, zaba will benefit from the rest .

and weve got a couple or 3 of the younger lads coming through,so imo as it stands equal, get a couple more in then a better squad .

I wasn't trying to say the Bundesliga wasn't but the statement they made that "from top to bottom"(when the top team hasn't changed for 3 years an never looked in doubt) more competitive was way overboard, no bashing going on my part.

Call me trendy if you like but we need new fullbacks desperately.

I never again want to see Sagna or Kolorov in the lineup.
