De Bruyne?

Indeed they do

Our bluemoon flappers right now:

Nastasic and Negredo were already gone last season, Jovetic and Lampard were bit part players, Richards, Guidetti and Boyata were hardly fundamental players for us. So I'd not really say it's an overhaul at all. The fast majority of our starting XI will be same as two seasons ago with no major upgrades (bar Sterling).
Mangala MIGHT prove to be an upgrade in time, but that's it.
I just wish we had a fast majority who all had Aguero and Sterling pace

Good post but what do reports have to do with anything? They mean precisely nothing! Who cares if anybody scrutinises us or licks our arse?

The club! They care a lot in fact. I don't. Not one bit. But those involved in increasing our global appeal want positive news in the media not constant snubs and negativity.

Absolutely no idea what we're playing at here. The lad wants to come, we've been tapping him up for months, and now he's made comments publicly wishing for a bid.

Why haven't we made an offer?

Makes no sense at all.

Stop pissing about and get it done for Christ's sake. Make the bid.

I don't think it's that simple. If we loan out Zucculini we have one are place left in the 17 non HG players. The issue is do we want an AM like KDB or CM like Pogba or a CD like Ottemendi. There is only one slot now Edin has gone. What would you do given the money being demanded for each?

Not easy!

I dunno if he really has said he wants to come, either they think he's priced too high(FFP) or maybe they have someone else in mind. Pellers said he expects one more signing recently didn't he?

Still massive changes in the 1st team squad over a short period of time. Looks like we'll have 3 new players in the starting 11, more new faces in the 1st team squad with Roberts, and the promotions from the youth team replacing established player who have left.

Jovetic and Dzeko are both out, that's two spots, no?

I have to say, I'm seeing things very differently to you. I'm not seeing how we've improved much over the last couple of years. Sterling may well prove to be a great addition (we'll have to see), but all in all, I can't say we've stepped up a level from Mancini's days. Other teams however have improved, which now sees us (arguably) in a 3-4 horse title race.
When I use the term 'overhaul' I'm using it in the sense of a considerable improvement, rather just a shake up of personnel. I can't think of a single player we've bought in the last 2 years who has set the place alight. Fernandinho and MdM are perhaps the best two examples who have done a good job for us, but I'd be hard pushed to say they've helped up step up a gear. Navas (imo) even less so. I'll give Mangala a bit more time, as one season isn't enough to judge him on.

IMO, we simply haven't bought very well for a few years. At best, we've bought a couple of players who worked out 'ok' - which isn't enough to provide a highly confident title challenge, let alone hope to win CL. I can't say it's the amount of money we've spent, merely the quality of the signings. Distinctly 'average' at best in terms of progression.

Huge game of poker going on.
City want to sign both De Bruyne and Pogba.
Wolfsburg and Juve want to sell.
Wolfsburg and Juve both want to rip us off.
We are sending the message that although we are willing to sign both players, we will only pay what we think they are worth and if Wolfsburg and Juve think they are going to rip us off, they've got another think coming.
Both players aren't helping because although they want the move and all the benefits that brings , they don't want to rock the boat and leave on bad terms with clubs they feel have helped their careers.
That creates a logjam, with all 3 parties looking at the other 2 to blink first.
As it gets nearer to the end of the window, the pressure will ramp up.
It will then be down to who wants the deal the most, and it will be they who blink first.
Once that happens the first deal will get done.
Once the first deal gets done, City will go to the remaining club and inform them that they have made the signing they most wanted and that we aren't too bothered if their player comes or not although we still want to do the deal. City will then name their terms and sit back leaving the ball in their court, take it or leave it.
That's when the second deal will get done. On City's terms.
That's why the bid hasn't gone in.
All in my opinion, of course.

I read Zuculini doesn't need to be in Prem squad as 21 at turn on the year, so classes as U21 this year, can't see he'd kick up a fuss being left out of CL squad if stays.
