In reference to their comment about when the oil runs out. The reason the Sheikh bought the club is to get out of their reliance on oil. In the book by David Conn, Richer than God, Manchester City, Modern Football and Growing Up. They explain how they are buying assets around the world to keep the money flowing into Abu Dhabi ready for when the oil does run out. So that comment is redundant.

There's always a chance it could go tits up with the Sheik if he passed away, or there was some major political issue between the UK and UAE, but investors at United could equally decide that football's not for them, or it's time to change their investment from one club to another. After all, they aren't necessarily football fans, let alone United fans. They are just investors.

Even if it did go tits up at City, we wouldn't necessarily be back to pre Sheik days. We've grown hugely and would be an entirely different proposition to new owners. You can't put the genie back in the bottle.

Things change. It's pointless them believing change can only happen to City, whilst kidding themselves they are immune to it.

There ARE some real whoppers on every forum, but there's a few sensible ones on RedCafe too who do actually credit us as having a fantastic squad and having changed as a club (which isn't going to just 'go away').
You are absolutely spot on there, mate, especially your third paragraph. City were a much bigger club than united before WW2; that united fans dismissed out of hand the possibility of it ever happening again, no matter what, showed a complete lack of imagination or mental capacity on their part. Only capable of seeing the world through the prism of the present. Anyone who uses the terms 'always' and 'never' in that context is quite simply a fool.

I also agree with your last paragraph, however. There are a lot of fair, balanced posters on there. Far more than on RAWK.

If Abu Dhabi oil runs out within a generation I suspect united fans and football fans more widely will have more immediate and pressing concerns than sporting rivalry.

A comment spawned by bitterness and desperation.

I'm really starting to fear the worse for this season... only 3 games in for the rags and they've already benefited from own goals, turned down penalties and sending offs, add to that the sycophantic arse licking from the media, which seems to have escalated to a whole new level and all the while they've been playing pub team standard football, it feels like it's going to be a long and frustrating season.

The other side of the coin is that they are using up a lot of their luck at the moment. I can't wait to face them in October.

They're all cunts and motherfuckers and can all fuck off the rag bastards. Depay is a ****. Rooney is a rug-headed ****.

I take it we will be treated to a media cum fest this week now of Depay being better than Messi and it all being down to the tactical fucking turtle!

Reality is they are long ball shite!

Saw a rag post on facebook that Chris Smalling looked amazing last night. This guy has previous for posting that di Maria is better than Silva. They really do have a very distorted view of football.

We've had to put up with some dross players down the years but when the so called richest and most supported club in the world can field pub team players like Rooney,Blind,Smalling, Depay, Fellaini, Jones,Shaw and that Jizzjazz fella, you'd think the natives would be up in arms ready to burn the swamp to the ground.

They are no where nearer to winning the league than when the piss can left in 2013, they are in fact in a worse position and slurgie wasn't aloud to splash 60 odd million on one player. 3 seasons in since the guy left there is no one at the club who has a cohesive idea of direction the football will go. No top players barring Tia Maria will go near the club and he knew it was shit the moment he got there.

Look at the rest of the big four clubs, silva,Aguero,Yaya, ozil,Sanchez,Hazardand Fabregas. They have no one in that bracket of player. 4th place at best for them unless Arsenal stink the place out, which is highly unlikely as wenger is way to street wise for that.
