De Bruyne?

Does Ric give you a fiver every time you say likkle City?

No mate but it's a bugbear of mine. Some of our fans are stuck in the past, unable to perceive what we now are, browbeaten by United's gobshite young fans.

We steal players from under United's nose, not the other way around. They are a club living in the past with shit owners, a clown of a manager, a weak squad and a tired old stadium. World class players don't care that they have legions of brainless goons in Milton Keynes with their names on their wallpaper, or that they used to win things. They care about the future.

And anyone with half a brain can see that the future is ours, not theirs.

I honestly think we should walk away from this now. I mean a genuine walk away. Not an lvg one.

After decades of being shit, mismanaged, completely uncompetitive, bulldozered by our local rivals and generally made to be a laughing stock within English football, it's an understandable position for some fans to find themselves in. When all you've known is abject failure, when your formative years as a City fan were a continual barrage of shit, interspersed with some proper shit, it's hard to adjust your default setting. I readily admit that it's taken me a fair while to view us as a "top table" club, capable of snatching elite footballers from the grasp of clubs a decade or more ago would have been light years ahead of us. Some, it seems, are still struggling to make the adjustment. I still have, from time to time, feelings of inferiority which, when you assess the cold, hard facts, are simply no longer valid.

Good post.

IF, and it's a big if, these reports that wolfsburg keep upping the price, then it's time to leave it. They clearly don't want or need to sell him. I can understand the need to get Pogba because he's a ready made replacement for Toure. We don't NEED kdb. We already have creativity, pace and have no problem scoring goals. It never was the problem.

It's fair enough, it's a valid point but I say it's time for people to see the light for good. If you want those feelings of inferiority to go away forever, go to a match at Old Trafford. It's big but it's tired, it's stuck in the past, it's cobbled together and it's unwieldy. It's an analogy for that club. I don't care how many Lou Macaris will tell you that "United are rebuilding" and all that shite, based on little more than sentiment and arrogance. They aren't going to catch us up for a long long time. A generation or more.

Well, maybe they'll try, to they'll get snubbed again. I'm feeling confident we'll get him.

Quite. The days of them being a more attractive destination are gone. I do feel Wolf are just taking the piss but we just have to trust our negotiators. We can't force them to sell. If they overplay their hand and we do leave them holding one pissed off player than it will at least give us a bitter laugh.
