De Bruyne?

I'm not buying into these late hijack stories but just goes to show if you fanny around to long it can happen.

It puts pressure on Wolfsburg publicly to get a deal sorted as they have an unsettled player, it unsettles the squad and everyone knows he wants to leave. It also takes away a bit of their bargaining power as we would know this ourselves and Wolfsburg would know we know.

Isn't that the position now though, without a TR?

The media really are dragging this story out now. The PSG stories don't ring true simply because I thought Wolfsburg want £57m and we have not gone that high yet. How can can they match a bid of £59m if we are not willing to pay £57m?? As for United if they are interested it would be a strange one as the are well stocked in attacking midfielders and wide players it's a number 9 they are crying out for.

Another day and still nothing more,if this transfer falls through in my opinion city will have no blame in its failure that will lie at the door of Wolfsburg and its people and along with de bruyne and his agent...

There is no way the Scum are getting involved in this. They are a laughing stock as it is, after the Pedro fiasco. Imagine if they go in for De Bruyne and he still comes to City? Not only SNUBBED, but snubbed for the noisy 'ickle neighbours. It's bollocks.

But they can do things in the transfer market that other clubs can only dream off.

Rags join the race eh? Here we go again

This is true. No other club would have let Fellatio's buy out clause expire, and then have to pay even more. Nobody else would have dreamed of doing that!

You do know we let Demichelis sign with Atletico Madrid for free and then bought him for 5m a few weeks later?

I love taking the piss out of the rags as much as anyone, but we've done some dumb things as well. There's no logical reason for them to be in for KDB anyway and I think the deal is far too far along with the player anyway.

Surely time for City to now politely move on from this transfer? What seems abundantly clear is that Wolfsburg are not keen to sell, definitely not to us and probably not to anyone. I imagine that the only thing which might cause them to sell is if he asks to leave, and we have to assume that if he was going to do then he would have done so by now. From our point of view it is clearly not an opportunistic signing, or one related to availability, such as Delph being available at a bargain price in a squad area where we had a vacancy - given the price we are apparently prepared to pay, and the length of time we have spent on the deal, then the club clearly see it as a key signing - BUT unless we are prepared to throw a shed load more money at Wolfsburg, and/or kdb is to ask for a move, then I cannot realistically see it happening, and if the club do see it as a priority signing, then presumably we do have a plan B, and must surely be ready to move to it very very soon?

We don't have a plan B because we don't need one. We just tore apart the champions a week ago, we don't need to add numbers for the sake of it, we are going after the 1% of footballers who can actually take the team to the next level.

And why would the club care if he signs yesterday or on deadline day? All that matters is he gets here, and they'll do everything they can until the deadline to make that happen.
