Champions League Draw & TV Pairings

Fooking doom merchants on here.... Get a grip, if we had drawn 3 blip blop teams from the shitist footballing nations you'd be all papping it!!!

It's the Champions League, the draw could have been kinder but if you supported any of the other teams in our group then I could understand your concerns.

The start we've made, the players signed, KDB imminent and 2 of our most influential players back on song (Not to mention Silva (Although I just did)) and I think we are just about ready for almost anything the CL can throw at us.....
 
I said before that as long as we didn't get Barca, Bayern or CSKA then I'd be happy, and I stick by that. Being in the champions league is about playing the big teams not FC Astana. I think we can qualify but it'll be more difficult to top the group than people are saying. What I like about the group is that every game is a big game, and the table will be competitive to qualify. Juventus at home the first game, a real chance to put a marker down and with the way we've started I think we will.
 
watching Southampton tonight no one should be underestimated these minnows all seem to play some decent stuff
 
I and happy with that group, Just as the teams from pot 2 were being drawn out I said to myself I would happily take Juventus and then whoever comes after that. Winnable group for us I reckon

The point I am making is the group stages, wait to immediately jump to the semi finals and ignore the first 5 teams.

Malmo
Atletico after losing Costa
Olympiakos
Monaco
& A Dortmund team that was almost last in the german league halfway through their domestic season.

They got worked by Barca just like we did.

The point I am making is the group stages, wait to immediately jump to the semi finals and ignore the first 5 teams.

They squeaked by Madrid and then proceeded to get worked by Barca just like we did
 
Pretty pleased with the draw. It could have been slightly 'easier', and none of these teams will be pushovers, but if we carry our current league form into Europe then we could well top the group with a healthy points tally.

Just booked up for Sevilla away, should be a great trip. Trying to resist temptation to do Juventus as well, seeing as the flights are still pretty cheap at the moment.
 
Will be great games against great teams, I'd rather that than some piss shit hole no-one cares about, I like having fun and excitement in my life. Let Chelsea with their boring as shit football play boring as shit against some nobody teams before going out playing boring as shit football against the first half decent team they face, we'll have all the fun.

Not really a surprise, though, is it?

That's common practice for Sty if it doesn't have coverage of a certain event or competition.

Th FA Cup, for example, hardly gets a mention on there now that BBC and BT have rights to it.
 
Stupid question maybe but the groups teams are drawn in bare no implication on the next round do they. It's not like winner of group A plays runner up in groups B etc.

Actually with the amount of Spanish teams it's probably not even possible to think that far ahead. Ignore.

Ok so next question, at what point can you draw a team from your country.
 
This is the year I feel we will make a mark on the CL, I believe we will top the group and get through to the latter stages. After that who knows?

I think it's a straight draw after the first knockout round

You avoid the teams in your own country for the first knockout round after the group stages. Then you can draw them after that (I think)
