Refugee crisis

You've still failed to answer my question! I'm obviously not going to get an answer so I won't ask a third time.

You've failed to understand my concerns. Economic problems exist right now .... My concerns WERE not to add to those pressures.

I totally got your concerns but I don't share them - stop living in fear, it'll only lead to hate and it'll eat away at you.

Is that clear enough for you? Put your pitchfork away.

This is absolutely ridiculous. You sound like a teenager in a huff. I didn't post anything that suggests I had my 'pitchfork' out, if anything, I'm sure others on the thread would agree - it's actually you who have had his 'pitchfork' out on this thread. All I asked was a still unanswered reasonable question surrounding your concerns of the economic implications of this humanitarian crisis.

I've sussed out your style, post a few stirring posts and chip in here and there to keep things bubbling along whilst others argue. Then as soon as someone pulls you up on it you get all flouncey with your 'all I was saying was blah, blah, is that OK with YOU?' bullshit. Then after a few hand you your arse, you do an about turn quicker than a well drilled soldier during a parade.

You may also notice I've changed my view

You've gone from zero tolerance, no one is welcome, who will foot the bill, to let them all in regardless of cost in a few pages. Is this what you genuinely believe? Or has your about turn been brought on by a few on here pulling you up on it and rather than argue your point you've decided to duck out to avoid trying to defend the indefensible?

Obviously viewpoints are there to be challenged and perceptions usually do change when you actually get as much education on a subject as possible before jumping to a misinformed conclusion. Maybe in future do some research to gather the full facts before posting. If only you'd have done that in the first place here. :(

Ffs !!!!

My answer was in the post . Try reading it. Also I don't need a degree on something to post replies on a football forum. You're a bit selective too pal .

I changed my mind after seeing something

Fuck all to do with anyone's ideas on here.

Please also quote where I said no one is welcome and I have a zero tolerance approach.

I had genuine financial concerns and see the pressure on our resources so why can't I say that??????

I've since decided that I'd rather see people safe than worry about the stress on doctors nurses teachers councils etc etc etc

Did you see that ? No you jumped on a bandwagon of pitchfork wielding posters hell bent on having a go at someone for having concerns. Then proceeded to psycho analyse my post history like I have some fucking agenda .
Spend your time doing something more constructive if you want to
help .

I don't usually take this place so seriously and won't bother again as I haven't the time or energy so don't bother doing another load of very selective psycho analysing ....

Tony Blair should be brought to book about the the mess he's left behind in the middle east also all the other politicians making cheap digs at each other should hang their heads in shame. Notably Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon. It's time to stop talking and take action !

I'd be happier not knowing/seeing things going on that is out of my control, I understand why these things get coverage but 95% of the time I just find myself thinking to myself what am I suppose to feel? Remorse? Anger? Sad? And what if I do feel this way? What good will it do for the thousands suffering?

It reminded me of a video I saw a while back of a little girl in China being run over by a van and people walking past just ignoring her and it made me feel physically sick but after thinking about it I thought to myself why even show it? Why even give it coverage as the days go by and the years past nothing changes and it eludes everyone's mind to the point where it's all forgotten!

It all just seems pointless to me and just makes some people unnecessarily depressed for a short period of time!

She has something up her sleeve,YES she's letting `Economic Migrants into Germany, but putting them in villages & small towns is causing unrest despite what the banners say.
I'm sure she sees them as short term settlers, the huge proportion are adult males what happens when they demand their families are allowed in.
This is just the start.UK needs to stay strong on this.

What are you on about? These aren't economic migrants.

Fingers crossed that shithouse of a leader listens to the public and opens the doors for many thousands of these refugees, I won't hold my breath though as he's no fuckin human being.

That boy was safe in Turkey and ended up dead on the beach.

The only shocking thing about this case is that his mother chose to risk his life in an unseaworthy boat to try to get from a safe country to a safe, more affluent one.

In theory, you're absolutely right. It's not the kids fault he's dead, it's the mothers.

But it's desperate times for people out there, it leads to doing desperate things, which happened when they got in a tiny dingy in the med. If they had a choice, they'd of taken a more stable boat if available. But that probably wasn't an option. Thousands of Syrians want to be as far away from there home land as possible.

I actually can't believe people are arguing over this, what happened, has happened. I'm just glad to be here in a safe warm house, than over in Syria like millions of them poor people. Sad times.

So we have a photo and the press go into overdrive.
How many kids have drown in the med this year?
This family had been denied asylum in Canada despite what some on this thread have said. They were safe in Turkey. The parents chose to pay smugglers to get them into the EU. The UK have allocated 900 million quid to the Syrian crisis and more than half of it has been spent.
The people in Hungary are not refugees. If they were they would claim asylum in Hungary.

I'm going to be hammered for this but these are facts not emotional outburst triggered by a photo.
If you want to help these people stop preventing the government from using it's military might. How about marching to demand the UK/EU/NATO/UN use all their military power to eradicate ISIS, remove Assad and train an army and police force from all these able bodied young male refugees/migrants.

Urmstons taking a break, so it's now your turn is it?

the fuckwit is apparently changing policy Sky has just said, hopefully he will do the decent thing, after all we have a mssive council house in the middle of London that has 774 rooms I am sure Lizzy could move to kensington palace for a few months and help out

I see replies like "Cameron must do something! " What is he supposed to do exactly?

The only way to prevent that boy from drowning is for the UK to provide their navy to transport immigrants from Syria to Britain. If you gave ferry rides between Africa/Syria and the UK, millions would come over. Why stay when the EU will take them unconditionally AND provide free transport?

Europe is committing suicide. This will just result in right-wing nationalists taking over a time when the EU is vulnerable.

It's going to get far worse, the Human Traffickers will now be able to convince more onto the Death Boats saying they are going to 100% be allowed into a European country.
Camerons right,it has to be stopped at source.

that is a worry in france, denmark, sweden, hungary and other places far right and nationalists parties are getting more and more support and some are likely to be in power. hopefully that never happens aka the 1930s all over again

Just seeing it as it is,unless this is tackled at the source of the problem it will escalate.
All Cameron has said(spits)is right,Assad,Human Traffickers,Islamic State are responsible NOT the UK whether people like it or not.

What I find hard to understand is why did it take a picture to generate such a massive reaction?

For months now, nearly everyday we have heared news of migrants dying in lorries and on boats etc... In this number there have been children, many children, hundreds of children, drowning, suffocating yet we all (me included) say... "Oh dear how sad, what a shame, it shouldn't happen, pass the salt please" Yet this image has changed most people's view. In all honesty I have always felt hurt and tearful when I have learned of any human being suffering and dying through suffocation or drowning and would love to stop it, but I can't!

Sadly, and this will sound hypocritical and harsh I agree with Cameron. As a nation we cannot take any more people in, we do not have the basic infrastructure to support the people already here (I.e. Ourselves, me and you) and very soon we are going to hit cold weather and the NHS will be creaking. We could say let's take say 5,000' if we do, there will more than likely be anothe 50,000 knocking at our door tomorrow, sadly, as advanced a country as we we simply cannot sustain it.

I do not know and can't even begin to think of what the solution is, apart from creating a European task force and smashing the hell out of the people that are ruining others' lives in countries like Syria.

I don't think I recollect anything as massive and tragic as this in my lifetime and I am genuinely heartbroken, heartbroken for their suffering and heart broken for the fact there seems to be very little we can do about it.

I am German - and live in Germany.

About every house in my town had refugees in after World War II. A lot houses were bombed and the rest people had to share. A lot of Germans have ancestors that were refugees - a lot who had similar problems on their way to Germany like the refugees today.

I am in my 40s. When I was a child I heared a lot of this stories and you still knew who of the residents always lived in town or area and who came from the areas in Poland, Czecheslovacia even the Ukraine etc.We still have cultural clubs in town that emphasize their heritage out of e.g. the "Sudetenland"...

There is towns like Neugablonz, Traunreut, Geretsried who were newly built just with refugees...

It is good that the German media lately emphasizes this stories again. There will always be people and even areas in Germany who are racists or nazis. And it is good that there is a lot more people in Germany that think different!
