Well that's one way to stop us hammering them every week at youth level. I remember the days when we took our ball home and refused to play them because they won a few games against us. Oh , hang on.. actually we just all got pissed and laughed at ourselves too for a while. A while being just over three decades - half a decade of serious local competition and the red side is imploding!

No women's team, no coherent youth policy, no vision. Not sending out a good message are they, particularly when the blue half is talking about building a sporting complex to rival anything seen worldwide, chasing titles on every level and investing in the future relentlessly.

Seriously though, can they really go crying that all the best youngsters seem to want to go to the team with the best facilities? Even their ex-players send their sons to us, soon maybe their daughters also at the rate women's footy is taking off. That surely shows that any loyalty they have is overruleed by knowing what is best for their children.

United have sleepwalked into troubles largely after resting on their laurels following their successes of the 90s, whilst their fans were shouting about being the best club in the world, they forgot to cement their position with any kind of meaningful infrastructure and planning. This can be kind of summed up with their decision to buy Van Perise - forget the future, GPC wants to go out on a bang! Where was the investment off the back of all that prize money, all those shirt sales worldwide? I'll tell you where, in the Glazer's black pockets. Either that or they are as creative with their incomes as they are with stadium attendances. So they can hardly come crying now when someone is talking advantage of their lack of strategy and foresight.

Nice post, mate. They are reverting to type, using restrictive practices as their main means of defence. It rarely works in the long run. As in most walks of life, you have to be innovative and competitive to stay with the leaders otherwise you gradually slip down the pecking order.

And guess what, they are flailing around without a coherent strategy and starting to fall behind those who do.

Whats the rags problem with our youth team?
a) We keep battering them
b) We scout their players when they play against us and try and sign the best players. (which seems like common sense and what every team in the country does) They are really only upset because before they did this to us, but now the opposite is happening and they've spat their dummies out.

Don’t know if it’s been posted yet but apparently LVG was speaking at some fans do last night and came out with some interesting comments namely:

They will finish 2nd or 3rd in the league i.e. he accepts they won’t win it.
And
Martial was purchased for their next manager – Mr Ryan (shagger) Giggs!!!

I have a feeling mate, your about to see a pic of the Titanic.

The fucking stuffy scumbag cunts.

They've accidentally stumbled into some right good fortune with this De Gea thing.

He's their best player by a mile and they're a much more solid defensive unit with him in the side.

I knew this would happen as soon as they fucked up his transfer.

Hope his head is right up his arse, though.

FUCK OFF. SCUM.

You have to wonder what assurances he has he will be allowed to go to Mardid in a years time though. Maybe a clause in his contract for a 10/15 million buy out clause. He wont suddenly of changed his mind about playing back in his native country for a side with a chance of winning things. They will of just upped his wages for a year and he'll be off next summer.

De gea won't win them anything.....relax

If they actually make Giggs their manager I will piss myself!

It will be the best thing to happen to them in decades, I am sure Giggsy will want the class of 92 with him and they understand fully the history and greatness of the rags. Success will surely follow after having spent a couple of years learning from the dutch master especially in the man management skills required to keep all the top professionals happy. Can't wait. (removes tongue from inside cheek)

His buyout clause has been reported as 50 million Euros (£36 million).

They are paying him an extra £8m quid this year so a release clause at £10m gets them a return and DDG gets his move next year! Everyone’s a winner.
The thing is it’s a short term fix. DDG will either continue in great form and leave for Madrid or turn shit and they won’t want him. The net result is the keeper situation will be unresolved for the long term and another thing they need to sort out.
