The fact we were utter shite tonight is a positive in a weird sort of way.

We created by far the better chances and Bony, Silva and Sterling should be embarrassed about the chances they missed.

Even defensively we looked good. We didn't conceed any clear cut chances and were undone by a wonder strike, which came about in fortuitous circumstances, and a hopeful punt upfield.

The this was against one of the top clubs in Europe suggests its a matter of time before we click.
Am taking the same view as it's still early days in this comp.

Forwards needed to be more clinical and willing to get a shot off when they see the goal.
We controlled the game until a few mins before they equalised. For some reason we opened up and it became end to end. Exciting and we had chances to finish it but didn't.
Then Pogba was given way too much space and time - could see the exact ball coming as the def mid hung back and didn't close him down until too late. Aside from a storming game, I think it was Ferna.
CBs apparently not entertaining the fact that it might be played long despite it being practically the only option as there was no opposition player short and central.
Final goal was opportunist and well taken - Bony and Raheem, please note.
We seemed to lose momentum even more after Sterling went off and further when Nasri came off.
All in all we were suckered again for two lapses in concentration at the back against a team who had 2 real chances and one half chance all game and our profligacy in front of goal.
At least I'm not angry about being cheated out of it this time.

Not bothered in the slightest. Champions league suck my dick. Roll on Saturday for the bread and butter. Fuckin champions league. .....pmpl.

This reflects clearly on TV and surely noticed by the player... And instead of acting as the 12 th man, as is the case in the premier league, the crowd is flat and so are the players

Attitude needs to change... Not all will take to the champions league but make no mistake the owners surely do!!

Let's look at this in a positive way, many players looked shot yet we still played better, on another day, chances taken, mindset focused, would of ran out 3-0/1 winners.

Nasri shouldn't start in them type of games I'm afraid. However let's not just blame Nasri and Bony. Hurts me to say it but Silva was poor tonight.

I think we will still do well if we stay clear of injuries, any news on kompany's injury?

Honestly, I thought we were incredibly unlucky to lose that game. We should have played much better, but we created by far the better chances and in much greater numbers and we were undone by two fantastic goals that there wasn't a whole lot we could have done about either (except maybe have a bit more pressure on Pogba for the first one, but it's still a ridiculously perfect pass).

Some pretty poor performances, particularly from Yaya and Nasri who will both play as slowly as they are allowed to play, which today was a snails pace. Silva clearly not fit and was pretty poor, no idea why Navas was dropped as he offers us the width that we've been using all season to great success. Bony frustrates me, as he looks to have it all set but just cannot get into his goalscoring rhythm, he's holding it up well and bringing in other players, but is snatching at chances.

Very frustrating night, but I thought we controlled the game a lot better than we have most of these games and really didn't give them much of a sniff untill the first goal and the second goal is just horribly unlucky, to bounce of Kolarovs head directly into the stride of their attacker, to curl it in perfectly from outside the box. If teams were that clinical every game then they'd never lose. We need to just get into the winning habit in the CL, as we look nervous more than anything, not playing our natural flowing game.

Didn't see anything from Juve that makes me think we can't beat them at their place though, we weren't outclassed in the way we have been against Barca, Dortmund and Real in the past. So chin up and bring on the next game

Think everyones a bit more gutted with this tonight because we shouldn't have lost, it's that simple, they had like 3 shots and scored 2.

We need to be far more clinical, can't be relying on Kun to score all of our goals.

Each and every fucking year. The first game, the most important one and they shit themselves. Then play catching for full campaign and of course put pressure on themselves in the league too as each CL game is World Cup final.

Big reality check needed after that.
In CL we have to be clinical and stop wasting clear cut chances since we won't have more than a handful of them.
Also, i must admit that Pogba is " worth every penny " of the £70M asked for him as would say M. Tyler.
He is the proper kind of game changer that can lift a team to european success, and such quality is pricey these days.

They looked crisp, clinical and very disciplined, not the weak side portrayed by the media today.
We changed our style for todays game completely, understandable but for this match sadly wrong.
If we'd have taken our chances the outcome would have been totally different.
C'est la vie !!

The same problems we've always had tbh...the Yaya, Silva and Nasri trio is just not strong enough for the Champions League. Their weaknesses can be easily masked in the league, but outside of it, it exposes the team badly when played together.

I thought Silva was more of a problem than Nasri personally. Had Navas been on Pogba would not have got that pass away. All the time in the world & he'd already shown it to us a few minutes earlier but we still fucked up.

We would finish mid table if we played in the Prem like we do in Europe.

Pretty much. Thought the front four weren't at their best but they still had enough chances to kill the game.

Ah well. I still think we will win the group. Sevilla will prove tough opponents for both us and Juventus so there's loads to play for still.
