While the badge has been brought up, what is the meaning of the boat? Of all the years I've supported the club I've never known what it represents.

Manchester grew into a major city out of the industrian revolution and the cotton trade the boat is a reference to the world wide trade in goods from that trade and commerce, also the 3rd (right) flag should always face opposite the left and middle flag, the bees on a globe represent the industrial and busy labour force and the shield is a reference to the first duchy of Manchester, but also now used to represent the rivers in more modern times

The 3 lines are symbolic of the three rivers in Manchester get rid of the red rose as keep the river lines. It's Manchester our city our heritage not Lancashire the county.

just to add the first official use of the coat of arm of Mcr was in the 1840's and I only point this out because someone earlier on said ditch the ship as the ship canal is a salford, stretford thing so let the rags have it, where in fact the ship canal hadn't been built when this design first came into being and the ship on the CoA is not one that would have been use on it anyhow(the canal), I really feel any new crest must have the ship and shield on it as that is the emblem of our city.

I feel the rose represents England which is who we will be travelling as champions of (next year hopefully) when in Europe.

Like you said, Navy blue has been part of our kits in the past, and some blues have a hard on for the Navy blue socks for some reason, but when I think of Manchester City, Navy blue doesn't come into it.

Navy was part of our colours for the first 57 years of our existence, so to discount it because we're not in out 80's doesn't mean it's not part of our history, I assume you believe we have one. It's just the majority of us only saw navy in the late 80's and early 90's or when we were in our fall from grace at the end of the century. Personally I think the navy sharpens the badges lines, the badge must be round, the three river and ship on the shield is a must and the only stars I want to see are the ones we add when we win the Champions League. Great job Gav, your designs have looked the business on my seasoncard and I look forward to the vote off when we get to the final two.

The blurb about the final designs will say the both satisfy everything we asked for but this arguement will continue because probably 49% of people won't get the design they voted for.

The Yokohama one you've done there is absolutely gorgeous.

Melbourne's is rubbish but that's due to their rubbish flag.

Ours needs to be better looking and more striking than NYCFC and the Yokohama one if possible since we are the oldest/main club (I realise that's not PC). It'd be a bit shit if we created a club with a better looking badge.

Although we aren't politically lancashire anymore, i think the red rose looks best on the sides, the cross on either side doesn't make the badge look unique as it's too similar to NCYFC's and Melbourne's. That badge there would look more us with sky blue background behind the ship I think, probably with white bottom half and sky blue stripes (to reflect old badge colour scheme - with the exception of the stripes of course).

An excellent point and one I make to City fans of old who were lucky enough to go to Maine Road. Maine Road was an absolute shit hole pubs and atmosphere was great but if you weigh up what we have no why the fuck would you ever want to go back.

However the badge has always been a grudge to many.

I however look ar the bigger City Football Group picture. We are the only club to not have a circlular badge within the CFG. We need to keep all the teams in the group similar with kits sponsors and badge style. What is the best way to get around changing our badge than to offer it to the fans to decide full well knowing they will vote for circular.

The Badge is going to change it will be circular that I can tell you now is a guaranteed ITK

The current badge is an abomination. It only exists because a previous regime was so incompetent that they didn't own the rights to the old one. I suspect the only people who actually like it are the ones who have it tattooed somewhere on their body.
