City Vs Bournemouth Post Match Thread

Sterling and Kelechi were both on side. Otamendi should have conceded a penalty - possibly for the challenge but probably for hand ball a moment later. The officials weren't great for either side.

There was a lack of midfield cover in front of our defence during the first half but that was addressed when Fernando replaced Yaya.

KDB and Sterling were outstanding!

Don't think you can blame the ref for the non penalty if you look at his position and the roll of the ball you would assume it was a good tackle no way could he have seen it hits his arm or he went over the ball with his foot, not sure we're linesman could see

Fair enough if the ref wasn't in a great position for the penalty call. I wasn't complaining at the game lol!

Was there any news on why Yaya went off ? Not seen anything about it.

He didn't look fit to me anyway, and it didn't make a huge difference in the end, but I would prefer him fit this week.

Kdb class, Bony still looks like Benjani, Navas funny as fuck, yaya looked as slim as I've ever seen him. With Silva and Sergio it would of been ten.

Easing him back into the fold according to the quotes I just read. Should be good to go for CL and rags.
OK cheers, so not a new knock then, good. I'm not that bothered if he doesn't start on Wednesday, but I hope he's available next Sunday, as united can't stand him.

I thought Man City fans were a decent bunch... Lots of songs and kept going throughout, however, watching MOTD back, apart from the rendition of Blue Moon, which is the only song 'the ground' knows, you barely heard them on TV...

However, for large parts we, as a crowd, I thought we were really quiet yesterday... It was, I suppose, always going to be disjointed, being split over 3 tiers and no one really being able to hear anyone else...

Was nice to see their fans in their 'singing section' also applauding us when we came over...

Man City fans seemed a decent bunch... Didn't get caught up in all the 'Big Time Charlie' crap of continually taunting us (except for one song), and just focused on supporting their team...

I had plenty of discussion on the way home last night on this, but despite all the money and their global image, I was surprised at the fact they seemed to be a proper club with proper fans... No tourist fans... with an amazing stadium...

some nice comments from the bournemouth fans

Whatever that is Karen I don't see it I'm afraid, windows10 trashed my laptop last weekend, and I've had to rebuild it with windows7, and ever since I can't see anything within media tags, and I've no idea how to view them otherwise.
City twitter,mp saying it was not thinking about the next game but to give him a rest

Jut read that thread on there, and strangely enough on the walk into the ground with PB, I mentioned that City fans are the most grounded (and miserable pessimists) in the whole of the Premier League, we have seen the highs and the lows we have a right to be confident sometimes but we are always grounded

completely agree. one of the best things about us imo is that we haven't lost what makes us city. the fan base has been in the main kept the same, that spirit, local humor and togetherness is still there. teams like united and chelsea have definitely lost that. we have our own unique identity.

I had my doubts about Bony but I think he just needed a confidence boost. Saw glimpses today of his ability to hold the ball and if he can turn players with that strength and start scoring I reckon he could do a job for us. Nice for Sterling to get a hatrick, again, he's a player that will shine with a confidence boost like that. People slate Navas but he's quality at getting that ball down the side and in the box. KDB is world class, end of. World fucking class.

Got the job done but far from impressive, outside of De Bruyne.

Bournemouth were without a doubt the worst team I have seen at our place in last five years, including some of the hammerings we have served up to some Championship teams in the Cup.

Otamendi fancies himself as some sort of incisive blind passer when he needs to just sort his basic defending, United will run a bus through us based on yesterday.

We struggled to defend the space once again between the back four and the midfield, although legislating for Fernadinho basically being on the pitch to fill a hole and avoid another booking.

Mangala does the difficult stuff very well but he continues to fail and close down the man. It was his crap ball which led to us conceding.

Half asleep at inventive set pieces down the left hand side and we looked better for Fernando, who continues to look a different player to last season.

I would feel more optimistic about our chances next week if we have Fernandino, Fernando and Yaya in the middle.

We're like a Chinese meal at the moment, it does the job but you are still left wanting more.

Less sweet and sour, please.

Who would you leave out for the three in the middle?

I agree about Ottamendi and Mangala. Hopefully Kompany will be back in next week for Ottamendi. Mangala needs to concentrate for the whole 90 mins. He always seems to have a slip up in him.
