City Vs Bournemouth Post Match Thread

Great result - it should have been 6.Felt for Itchy - was a good goal.
Not confident about the defence. Seems to me Otamendi is not in the Kompany class(I know easy to say ).Hart giving the ball to Oto then a triangle of passes and the ball back to Hart.
Hart received more back passes today then in previous games. Manga did well except he is prone to one mistake. It was quite noticeable that Bournemouth were instructed to press our full backs - hence the number of back passes. Nasri seems to have his mind elsewhere these days.Just as Sterling was being subbed Nasri was staring intently at our bench - Medics I think - and touching his hamstring.Wanted to be subbed but Pellers has had enough of Nasri's sulks. IMO.
KEV IS CLASS his passes were wonderful - spotted the place to put the pass easy - - Sterling and Bony stepped up to the plate. Bony needs a run in the team. Will probably get it now.
Pellers said he subbed yaya because he had only played 2 x 45 mins in the last 2 weeks. Also think Pellers was a bit pissed off with Kompany (or the Belgian coach) for playing in the international for Belgium.
Finally Navas - again worked hard , did some good things - then his miss. Think back to Palace away - rounded the keeper and then with his left foot hit the side netting.
Got slated for that. So today he did not have the confidence to hit the ball with his left foot , so tried to bring it onto his right.
Sevilla next.Hope we have a good team out. Can imagine Komps. and Yaya being there - not sure if Merlin will be fit.
Which begs a question ? - how long has Clichy been out?.

Doesn't even look like any of their back line even raises a hand.

Maybe for a split second out of desperation.

The state of it. It's so obvious he's onside it's frightening. It should get mentioned, because these shit calls that 'aren't really vital' often go under the radar. And they shouldn't. An awful decision is an awful decision regardless of importance.

I won't hold my breath, though.

Me neither..

Good performance again today. Nice to see people stepping up in the absence of some star players.

Fernando was good second half, Sterling fantastic, Bony fantastic, KdB fantastic again, Navas did great also & Nacho unlucky. Defence a little shaky but still only allowed 1 shot on target from outside the box, unfortunately they all seem to be nestling in the bottom corner these last few matches, but not all bad.

Real tests for these guys against Sevilla & United coming up, if we do well in those matches with players like Silva/Aguero missing then that's an impressive job done.

Just arrived home and read through the thread to date.

Very pleased with the performance today, considering our 3.5 of our five best players weren't in the team (no Kun, Merlin or VK and only a half from Yaya).

Great to see you Raheem and Wilf scoring and delighted that neither Eli nor Dinho were booked, and so will be available for the derby. Dinho was a beast in midfield once again; has Merlin really been our best player this season?

KdB is certainly proving to be a great acquisition and, in time, will become a City legend on the same level as those already mentioned in this post.

I'm still fuming that Nacho's goal was disallowed. I had the feeling that he wasn't offside at the time and so it proved to be.

All-in-all, a good job done and great to see 11 City goals and 13 in total in our last two home matches. Upwards and onwards and hopefully wins in our next two games and beyond.

But the biggest laugh of the day was at half-time, when the goal-line challenge had to be moved to the side because the Bournemouth 'keeper was in nets.

That will teach them to delay the half-time entertainment.

And finally, for all those criticising NicO, weren't these exactly the same things that were said about MD two years ago and Eli last year? Give the lad a chance to get used to the pace of the Premier League and I'm certain we will see the real Otamendi stand up.

One other thing was - credit to Bournemouth for their support - seemed to fill the 3 levels - and today was a record Etihad attendance of 54,502 - beating
the Chelsea game of 54,331.
Their support was well chuffed that they were part of it.

I'm really sorry that Bournemouth fan didn't enjoy his visit because I came on to praise their fans and their players. We outplayed them BUT they never gave up, even in the 89th minute they were still fighting and their fans were still singing. Well done Bournemouth and by 'eck there were a lot of you!!

Their team also impressed me in the way they all, including the back room staff went over and applauded their fans not in dribs and drabs but all together, even the manager. Well done and fair play to them all. Some of our players could do with taking a leaf out of their book!!

Good solid game from us, we knew we could do it but we weren't complacent and all in all a satisfactory afternoon and Bournemouth being part of our record attendance was the icing on the cake for me.

To be fair to that bloke he had some valid points, not least the quality of the staff employed in the ground.
