The derby at Maine Road in 1973/74, also a 0-0 draw, was far worse, with Doyle and the chippy owner being sent off.

The away match, however, was quite enjoyable. ;-)

There was one at OT when Racist Ron was the manager that was as bad as that. The fighting in the crowd was far more entertaining.

I thought Otamendi was immense today - his partnership with Kompany could become really special - that could be crucial in City winning the league this season.....

So did I.

I think he's been mostly shite so far but he looked sharper v Seville & today looked like he has come to terms with the Premier League. Vinny was great.

Brilliant from Pellegrini today. Recognised that we were up against it with injuries & fatigue & that the rags would play a tactical game & didn't fall into the trap of naive football.

I think he could match anyone tactically if he wanted to.

A specialist player in Yaya's position today & City would have won. Wasted many opportunities.

Many a time Mourinho has gone to a title rival team and played for a draw then been hailed a genius.

Today's game shown me a few things;

1st - Pellegrini will grind results out. We went to Old Trafford knowing a point would return us to the top of the league and we were missing our two best players. The minute they brought Fellaini on he did the right thing by shoring us up.

2nd - We can never again play Yaya in the number 10 role. He was dreadful today as he was against Spurs.

3rd - They are the games United need to win. At home against a weakened title challenger who are there for the taking. Make no mistake, this was a much better result for us than them.

The only negative I would point out was Pellegrini's starting 11. I think he gave them far too much respect and should have started Navas with KDB behind the striker. We offered very little movement and were easy to play against. That said, you take Ozil and Sanchez out of Arsenal and they would struggle too.

All in all a good result for us.

Decent point. Defended well but so did they. We didn't create much at all second half. De Bruyne was clearly identified as our danger man and they succeeded in snuffing him out. Otamendi and Fernandinho were our best players. Missed Aguero and Silva as any team would.

We have just drawn away at our biggest rivals, without the two best players in the country and gone back to the top of the league.
There is not a thing we can moan about today.

Crap game.

We edged the first half, they were better second.

We could have gone for it a bit more second half. I thought we were very poor from half time onwards and that demichellis substitution was a bad one, invited them on and they almost scored.

Still if you can't beat a rival and especially a derby rival, make sure you dint get beat.

Defence played well on the whole today and looked more solid with Kompany back in. The two ferns were good and Sagna did ok against Martial who looked their best player by some way.

Overall it's not the end of the world and its not ruined my weekend.

Nacho plays upfront, not as a midfielder or CB. I don't believe we would lose if he was introduced. That's just ridiculous assumption.

Good point that especially with the 2 best player's in the league not playing. Imagine united playing without there 2 best players. I'd take a point away to any title contender. It's how you win the league. Win home and at least a draw away

Bony was poor. Otamendi was class.

That maybe the end of Toure at City. I wanted Pellegrini to make a change after the hour mark. When Utd had possession in he 2nd half he did nothing. He really has to get himself fit or I will be the of his career. We moved him further forward today, but I think De Bruyne would have been better there

Would have taken a point before the game given our injuries but i felt we could nick it in the second half. Sterling was very poor whilst KDB I felt had his poorest game. Bony did ok but never once looked like a goal threat. Otamendi was outstanding and deservedly man of the match while Fernandinho had another good game. Not the worst result!

Happy with the result, defensively superb, the two Ferns make a huge difference and should be automatic choices every week.
Otamendi was fucking brilliant.

Yaya was wank again, must have given the ball away 15 times, Bony was on scraps and spent most of his time in midfield, Sterling was shocking.

A point and a clean sheet away against another top 4 side is a great result, especially considering no Kun/Dave and our entire forward line having a stinker.

Silva and Aquero

No excuse for the negativity shown today. The team could of been equally as solid but with an attacking threat. The first substitution should of been Navas for either Bony or Toure, having both Sterling,Navas on the wings providing a threat on the counter. And De Bryune playing behind the striker. For me that would of been equally as strong but would of offered so much more threat when in attack. It would of been a positive move!
