The Derby Post Match Thread

Wow we have a weakens squad, are top of the league and people still are not happy lmao

The youngsters are never going to get a decent chance under MP. At least Lingard had 20 minutes of play.

It was a derby match away at Old Trafford, as much as I think he has great potential, starting Nacho would have been suicidal. Wednesday night against Palace he should play from the start.

Awful game, so bad in possession.

But, we dug in and ground out a win. Otamendi and Fernandiho were excellent. Fernando went about his business quietly but effectively.

Bony and Yaya were appalling!

Pleased Pellers noted the danger Fellaini caused us last season and brought on Demi to help combat that.

Kelchi should have come on much sooner for Bony.

I thought Otamendi was immense today - his partnership with Kompany could become really special - that could be crucial in City winning the league this season.....

I like Bony, thought he held the ball up well, especially in the first half. But he was offering nothing in the second half. If I'm fair, he wasn't dangerous the whole game. He doesn't seem to make any dangerous runs which is frustrating. He likes to play the hold up too much (and this is coming from a big supporter, loved him at Swansea!). Really wish we had another striker to come in off the bench. I was looking forward to this match the whole week and it was disappointing. I've always said Silva is the most important player in our team but now seeing what Bony offered and our lack of chances, Aguero's stock just went up.

De Bruyne, love him, but misplaced alot of passes today. Sterling, nothing. Kompany, you just showed why we missed you. Otamendi, well done. Sagna, I guess you did ok, but you let that kid Martial look like Cristiano Ronaldo. Kolarov, hmm, Valencia had the beating of you every time. Fernandinho, class. Fernando, you did your job. Toure, ineffective.

utterly dreadful game, and I'm irritated by the performance, because 1) the defence has no excuse for shipping 4 to Spurs and being constantly vulnerable when it can defend like that and b) for all the money we spent on attacking talent, Bony excepted, they were all absolutely shite. De Bruyne was crap, Sterling was crap, Yaya was crap, unacceptably so.

Still at least the 2Fs backwards did their jobs extremely well and secured the point, and we can move on to other games having got the game out of the way.

Peeved that pragmatic Pelle only turns up 3 seasons in and, on the ball and offensively, that was shite for any game, let alone a derby.

THE most piss poor Derby in living memory.

Can't believe we'll be on top of the league after that performance. One of the worst quality Premier League seasons ever so far.
The derby at Maine Road in 1973/74, also a 0-0 draw, was far worse, with Doyle and the chippy owner being sent off.

The away match, however, was quite enjoyable. ;-)

Anything Bony can do, Iheanacho can do as good if not better. He needs to get more game time. Coming on for last 10-5 mins every game is not good for him and we'll lose a huge huge talent if he leaves.

Decent point btw!
