Defensively excellent, going forward we were awful. De Bruyne looks barely half the player when on the right, while Yaya just looks completely finished, it was as poor as I've seen him play. Very pleased with Fernando and Fernandinho though who did a fantastic job in front of the defence. Draw is a good result and it's good to see how solid we can be with that screen in front of the defence, but some of our passing was utterly aimless. The front 4 combined to provide absolutely nothing, the service into the forward areas was just pathetic

No matter where Toure plays it seems like he will always play more advanced then his actual role. So if he's central midfield he plays like he's in the 10 role. Today when he was supposed to be in the 10 role he played like he was a striker.
 
Far too easy to defend against. Bony was no threat whatsoever and de bruyne was poor and bullied out of the game. Only silva and aguero can be relied on to make things happen
 
Hindsight and all Bony was heading the ball to no one. Yaya didn't want to be that someone, and the one that could have made all the difference, DeBruyne, was stifled by 3-4 players.

goodpoint nonetheless considering thabsence of aguero and silva.
 
I can't believe what I'm reading on this thread. All week people have been moaning like f**k that we don't respect opponents, are too open blah de f**king blah, and when the manager does exactly what people wanted, we suddenly don't attack enough.
 
Can't understand why anyone would be unhappy with that result. We were being pulled apart by a bunch of no marks on our own ground a few days ago. The same players have mostly been asked to play every week & are knackered.

I think we were in for a right fucking hammering today if we played like we did v Seville. Today was a title winning type performance away from home.
 
Certainly a better result for us than them. At home playing a depleted City team they still drop points.

Looked like we set out to get that result, & personally I'm pleasantly surprised that we managed to put in a performance like that, always thought we were pretty useless at shutting teams out when we tried to but United never looked like scoring.

Naturally would have been nice to go for it a bit more & attempt to win, but I've also said sometimes we are too crazy like that so it's nice to know we can put in a performance like that when needed.

Top of the table & another clean sheet. Onwards & upwards.
 
It's the way the scum set there team up that made that game boring why should we fall for the park the bus and hope for a fluke!!

Pellegrini was rightfully pragmatic without our two best players. Defensively we were class apart from some lapses by Kolarov. I'd rather be commenting on a boring game where we didn't get beat by our nearest rivals rather than a defeat because we went for it and got caught out. If Aguero and/or Silva were playing I would have had a different opinion.

He had to be so deep because Yaya was doing fuck all.
 
Fernando and Otamendi, that's what Manchester City is all about. My two favourite players anyway but I'm happy with how improved Fernando looks this season.

I've not seen us quell Rooney for 90 mins like that ever before, well done Nico.

We lost 4-2 last year with Dave & Kun. Sometimes you have to defend away from home and get a point - especially with a weakened squad
