Let's kill this attendance nonsense myth

and if we suffered 2 relegations there would probably still be 30000 + of us attending.......and thanks for the detailed post Gary. It's funny that the clubs who talk most about 'history' decide that 'history' starts when their club is most successful

Still don't know how those muppets have the nerve to sing about empty seats when their club actively chose not to release their attendance figure against Ipswich, only the other week, such was the poor turnout.

Jokers.

I got the impression, Ipswich supporters forced some kind of declaration, as they get a cut in the cup.
55k officially, but wasn't a number of 35k released, so 20k season ticket holders told "buy a cup ticket or we withhold your season ticket for the derby"?

Anyway, tomorrow's script is written for the broadcasters. I'd give them about 1 minute before they mention that the ground isn't full, what with the top tier being shut.

do you have a picture of the ground for this game so we can draw circles round empty seats, might get it in the MEN :D :D

They know it's rubbish but that doesn't matter. It's a wind-up

I work with four rags across two shifts, one has been a st holder at the swamp for many years and n believe or not never mentions empty seats unlike the other three who have never been near the swamp and would struggle to find place yet never stop banging on about the emptihad and our shit support and surprise surprise when you ask them why the never go the old 6 year waiting list bollocks spills out of the rancid rag gobs.

To be fair, our two seats will be empty on Wednesday. We both signed up for the League Cup scheme. As it happens I am working in Oman this week so I cannot make it to the match. It's bad enough getting from Edinburgh for a mid-week match let alone from Muscat! I was supposed to be there in three or four weeks time but the schedule was changed.

We were at least given the choice to sign up or not, United fans are not given any chance.

the rags might get bigger crowds for cup games , but they actually have more empty seats , something which is lost on our agenda driven media. If the scum have 649m fans , you would think attracting 70 odd thousand of the rats to Old Toilet on match days would not be a problem.[/QUOTE

Let's be fair, the " fans / supporters /knownowts " that go to Old Trafford are so ignorant and stupid, that they aren't bothered what kind of rubbish is served up to them , just so long as they can say that they have been there .

It's just like one of the " bucket list " things to do for some of them, and a day out of London for the majority.

My reply to the clowns who try taking the piss is ,we get 50k plus week in week out despite having the biggest club in the world only 4miles away, not bad for a likkle club is it,they soon pipedown

Missing due to working in Oman? I don't know, just no commitment.......
Aye I'm a real part timer!

It's the first home League Cup tie I have missed in four years apart from the home leg of the semi-final against West Ham when I was on holiday in Madrid.

I hope no MEN bastard starts drawing a red circle around my seat!

They were selling some tickets for the boro game at manny uni too a few weeks ago....summert they never tire of accusing us of....

Having given the matter more thought, who actually cares what these Rag imbeciles think about anything really ?

We all know that they tag onto the " greatest club in the world " because they are the human ( barely in most cases ) equivalent of lemmings . The sooner they do the decent thing and throw themselves over the cliff , the better society will be.

Many empty seats are visible in the press box because the media increasingly write their reports whilst watching matches on TV, either at the paper's local office or even at home. Large chunks of their reports on tonight's match have already been written.

Was it really only 34000 and they refused to release the attendance. Normally doesn't bother me what they say but after seeing all the sad twats retweeting pics of cb3 tonight would love to throw the Ipswich attendance at them!

United are the only club to not release their attendance figures from last night's games. Every report apart from United's has the attendance quoted but nothing on BBC, Mail, Telegraph and to confirm my suspicions, the United website.
