Let's kill this attendance nonsense myth

I do think its funny when United or Liverpool bang on about our attendance. At the end of the day we don't have the following (currently) that these clubs do. It will come and I see a great future for us. What more could we want as a fans?

That's all they have these days. The banter used to be about football when they were competing with Real/Barca/Munich and we were scrapping to get out of league one and two. All they have now is 'look let's all laugh at a few empty seats'... We all know most of their fans are out of town glory hunters... all these 'fans' follow United who along with Liverpool have been the most successful clubs in England for 40 years... They only follow theme because they won things...they took the easy option.

^exactly^

Our winning and the wide spread frustration is causes makes winning even more satisfying!

Fuck united and Liverpool , their bid match is when they play each other, and scrapping for fourth place, we on the other hand have far bigger fish to try

I made this point last season just after the Roma game where Scoles made the point about the atmosphere being terrible. A few weeks later Liverpool played Basel in Gw6 needed to win to qualify. It was set up as ...'One of those famous Anfield nights' Liverpool were terrible Basel scored and all you could here were the Basel fans singing. Not a peep from the kop. I waited for any mention of the flat atmosphere. Nothing.
It's annoying but like other posters have said it's really the only stick they really have to beat us with.

I don't remember the special european nights at anfield in the 70's (a bit before my time) but you can't knock them now, I love the way they sing all the songs in a foreign language, normally the same language as the foreign team they are playing !

Rival fans is just banter and it's all they have. You hear bitter dippers actually drawing up league tables without us and Chelsea in it because in their world we aren't playing fair! How fucking pathetic can you be, but then it is the dippers so not surprising. They trot out the can't fill the stadium shite even though we are filling an expanded stadium. They trot out the WWYWYWS shite despite knowing that a good percentage of us were there. It's tedious but acceptable because like I said it's all they have.

The press on the other hand, bar a few who are actually good reporters just take it all in and spew it all out like little children sniggering to themselves that they are following the rag/dipper line to get more sniggers off the rags/dippers. Pathetic. If they were better are their jobs they would be chief sports writer for a paper rather than writing snidey text comment on the bbc website. Maybe he should focus a bit more on that.
I think half the problem is that the media now seems to be made up of just your ordinary fan with a degree in journalism from an online university in Timbuktu. The level of journalism has sunk to an all time low as we see week on week and the people writing these articles are actually just under qualified hacks who have no capability of writing anything other than same old predictable crap.

They also write these articles as they know it gets lapped up by the gawping jealous rags dippers and tarquins which gives them the most clicks and therefore effectively pays their wages. Imagine an article about how City now average 53k in the league and what a success the new stand is. We would all be saying bravo, however the majority would give it no time at all.

I find it funny that on one hand we get WWYWYWS as if we're made up of glory hunters, and on the other we get slagged for having no one turn up to games.

Best just nod your head and laugh, the majority that worry about crowd sizes have never been to a game in their life.

I love it when anyone has a go about our crowds. I make Gary James look like an amateur. Have about 90 facts at hand. Which club got 23.000 for a home European club final?
Excellent. Get them all on here. It's a topic City win hands down if we talk about highs and lows. City never had lowest crowd in their division, Utd have.
City never averaged less that 12k, Utd have at Old Trafford!
City never had a league crowd lower than 8k, Utd have on several occasions. Lowest about 3k.

Europe - didn't Utd get about 19k for a home European tie as well? Nevilles debut!
