Villa Vs City Post Match Thread

Why have Iheanacho on the bench as the club's 3rd choice recognised striker if we don't intend to use him? I don't think it was a bad team performance or that any player was particularly bad either, what was clearly evident is that we were toothless in attack and we had a star 19 year old 1st team striker on the bench and we didn't use him. That was the major contribution to today's result.

Again we were guilty of putting square pegs in round holes when there was no need as KDB was brought here as a creative midfielder not a striker and the same applies to Sterling. Other teams put faith in their youth if they feel they're good enough, by the look of it we just come along after the fact and pay £44m for other club's youth players which is especially baffling considering we have more than enough of our own to choose from.

I wonder if Sterling would be a first team regular at City if he'd come through our youth ranks? Looking at Kelechi's face when Navas came on for Bony, he could be forgiven for thinking 'What's the fucking point of being here if I can't even get a game when we have no other strikers available'.

You say Kelechi didn't do anything when he came on, well it's not like he had a great deal of time to effect matters did he?

This all day long for me also..

As someone stated earlier in this thread, there was really no need to set up as we had against Sevilla, with both Ferns in the side.

If it was obvious to people like me, who have never played football in their life that Villa would provide very little attacking threat, why wasn't it to MP and his staff?

Because MP doesn't wear a condom on his head.

It gets better

How you feeling Keletchi ? Well I was sick all last night Boss. We don't have any other forwards, see how you feel later. Better bring me on Boss, you know you will get slated on Bluemoon if you don't. I know, but Yaya is feeling the effects of that tummy bug as well, might have to bring him off, didn't want to play Boney either cause in training his hammy was playing up.
Hope I can sign some new experts on the forum in January who actually know what goes on behind the scenes.

But Sevilla are beating Real Madrid 3-1 if you didn't already know....I'm with you by the way. villa are shit and we dropped two points today. It's that simple. Yes Pellegrini is doing well this season, yes we are sitting pretty a the top etc etc but today was still a poor result. I'm not quite sure why that bit at least is not universally acknowledged. If we go on to beat Stoke, Arsenal and Leicester away in the next 3 games then all will be forgiven I'm sure!

Wow! eightyfuckingthree pages, after a draw; will read them later.

Not a bad display, just a tad unlucky, any other day this should've ended 3 or 4 nil. Shame Bony left injured.

A point away, plus a clean sheet, still top of the league. Pellers out? no fookin way you flappers.

The Villa lot, in the pitch determined to gather at most their one point. In the stands, lost most of the respect I had for them, behaving scouselike is a shame you brummie cunts.

Kidd the premier league guru should've knew that..
How did our naive manager get our team to beat Seville?????

Played a fucking striker..

Wait, so let me get this right.

City win 1-3 in Seville with our best European performance in years, the thread gets to 52 pages.

We draw 0-0 and are still top of the league and the meltdown & lambasting of anyone associated with city hits 83 pages and counting.

'Kinell. Either this place is awash with rags or we are getting very assuming.

Very rarely will a team play well for 90 mins in a match. In fact, it's only in the games against the bigger teams where you need to keep your concentration for 90 mins.

In most games the match is won by a dominant 10-15 minute period or a moment of individual brilliance and keeping your opponent at bay.

We had our spell today but didn't take our chances. We hit the post, hit the bar, seen a chance miss the post by an inch, Sterling and De Brunye missed sitters and Sterling wasted another good opportunity.

We created enough good chances to win 3 matches but when you don't take them, you don't win.

Despite it being a good performance (bad result) I still think Pellegrini made some poor choices. That was never a match in which we needed Fernando for and if he would have dropped him in th 2nd half, we could have put Toure and KDB in their favour positions and played with a striker.

Sadly there becomes almost an inevitability in games like that where we start slowly, the passing is poor, Toure is ambling about looking disinterested. Momentum kicks in at about 70 minutes when we start to look like we need to take charge. Their goalie then has a blinder. Seen it many times in the past few years with City .At least we've progressed from conceding a wonder goal scored by some no hoper.
Agreed - but dunit make y'sick!

First half was poor by the players! But very unlucky 2nd half we never looked like losing! Team set up was fine maybe could have hooked yaya a bit earlier! But your not gonna get me slagging pellers for not going all out attack! Navas has to be found a role in the team!

I assume Gestede was attempting to throw the ball out for a goal kick to waste a few more seconds. Joe tried to stop it but failed and the ball went out for a corner. Still, what a cock Gestede is, and a shit Championship player as well
Then why did he immediately feign to rush at Joe as well? You give him more credit than he's due.

The posts claiming people are flapping and that we were unlucky today are the absolute worst. We wasn't unlucky, we got what we deserved, yes we had 1-2 big chances but that's not enough against bottom of the league. We should of been peppering their goal or hammering crosses in like we did for the last 5 minutes for the entire second half. pellegrini has to take the blame for his baffling decision bringing Navas on for Bony (Navas btw, had a good game but we needed a striker, a focal point and KDB is not that) and waiting so long before bringing Kelechi on.

There's simply no excuses for failing to beat bottom of the league.
