I suspect it probably would although no one would admit it. But just as not all Muslims are terrorists then not all Muslims are Asian either. Completely understand about the diverse ethnicity of Muslims, tho as of yet it appears the terrorist are only coming from the ME and North Africa.

I'm not opposed to security at the airport or football FWIW, just think we as a society can overreact to single events in a way that damages our way of life. Politicians like to say "look what we're doing to make things safe for you". In reality I reckon if someone wants to blow up a plane I'm on they'll do it.

I'm inclined to agree with this, a lot of the extra security precautions after 9/11 were political window-dressing, a determined well-organised terrorist cell will eventually find a way to get through.To satisfy politicians.

true, but the govt decided to donate the armed forces to the Olympics for free when it turned out g4s were not up to the job. Can't see UK armed forces giving up their weekends to act as free bag searchers and scanner operators for the prem?
It was the normal stewards I encountered at Old Trafford, annoyed at City gear worn intentionally being 2012 and that. The army were probably in the background in case of any 'incidents'. It would just need a lot more stewards and people to start turning up 90 mins before the game. It would be a nightmare for queues.

If it becomes more prolific they will adapt and simply send in people looking like you and me. I am sure they have a few fellas who with a clean shave and such would slip past on the spot visual racial profiling based searches.
What will happen is laws about buying tickets on your cc for anyone else. If you buy or supply a ticket to anyone but yourself and children under 16 then it is a criminal offense. They will demand full traceability and accountability for every single ticket sold.
All that stuff will get tighter i would imagine not that it is slack now really.

It's going to be a concern in the weeks and months ahead. I can see this sort of thing happening several more times but if there is any suspicion at all of terrorist activity then the authorities have got to do the right thing.

Erm what about these 'refugees'. First plane full has arrived in scotland. Apparantly expecting 20,000 by 2020. Probably go way over.We as a country are not part of the Schengen agreement allowing free passage without document checks, and we also live on an Island. The biggest threat to enabling entry by potential terrorists into the UK is via the chaos at Calais and the Tunnel. That will get a real dose of beefing up of security again I guess.

Mrs Ledge is near petrified about attending on Saturday which means I'll probably have to miss the game! If she refuses to go then there's no way I can take Mini Ledge all the way down from Edinburgh as she'd not be able to handle that either. Although I'm gutted I know I couldn't force her to go... just got to hope I can change her mind in the next couple of days.
