Is it Just MP or do we need changes higher up?

Of course the manager will get a lot of stick as any City fan with half a brain cell would have looked at that starting line up in disbelieve, but should we be looking at changes higher up?Even during MP's first season the league was handed to him our squad was head and shoulders better than everyone else yet he still struggled and had to rely on Liverpool and Chelsea bottling it.But ok you can't sack a manager that brings you 2 trophies so last season lets see what he can do and ok Chelsea had improved but with the squad we had we still looked lost tactically in the big games we never looked like challenging them or for any trophy. So who wanted him in the first place and frankly I really can't see why he stayed after last season I personally wanted Klopp as soon as I heard he was leaving Dortmund(ok not a good season for him but his best players were sold every season ) and what can I say he just beat us 1-4 on our own ground with quite frankly a team of mediocre players for me the better team didn't win tonight the better manager did, so maybe its time to look higher up the food change because who knows who we will end up with when MP goes because I really can't see why we brought him here in the first place.

Fcuk me, another knee jerk thread. We had a bad day at the office so lets sack every fucker. Shall we sack the players that were awful too yesterday? maybe not as there would be no fucker left.

A bad day, compounded by the rags winning. That's it, we dust ourselves down and move on.

We could do a ''Sack the board!'' and ''Sheik out!'' protest outside the ground but i doubt our owner would be affected by it thousands of miles away. We could also start singing ''We want our City back!'' and we could then enjoy days like yesterday about 20 times out of 38,just like we did in the good old days. Of course that would depend if we were actually in the premier league ,if not we would have another 8 games to probably suffer at least 4 more drubbings.I can see the OP's point let's set the ball rolling!

I know it's a hackneyed phrase but Manuel can't take us to the next level. When we saw the line-ups we knew we would lose. One defensive midfielder with Liverpool essentially playing six in midfield was suicide. My main issue is that this mistake has been repeated time and again.

I quite agree, and I don't think it's just a knee jerk reaction either, city ought to have a manager that can motivate players and pick the right team, it just seems we don't have this with good old pellers, as for other changes, why? and who? For me if TB goes then city will either revert to the manager as topdog of the club again (which could be a disaster if the manager isn't performing to a good enough standard- and we may suffer like Arsenal in he grip of a manager that appointed his own boss, and is accountable to nobody) or we need a new director of football, and who would we get?

Pmsl the game had been finished for less than half an hour when the op was posted. How long was this planned "from what I'm told we just lost to x by y goals to z goals (insert as appropriate) load of fucking shite. In 4 words.

We lost. We played shit. It happens. We were still trying to get a goal into the last minute. Move on.

Agreed. There are lots of things I like about MP. Great football most of the time and a fantastic attacking ethos but he is not flexible enough to be a world class coach. I am not losing any sleep over it. To upgrade from him is the next logical step in our upwards progression. I thought Royle was an upgrade on Keegan and Mancini did a great job but left at the right time. The summer will be the right time to replace him...even if we win the title.

These bad days are becoming too regular!

Things yesterday's result seemed to suggest:

Delph should be starting over Yaya. Deal with it.

The team is lacking strong personalities. It's all good when the opponents are respectful of us but, out of our 14 players yesterday, only Hart will ever try and give the team a push when things start going badly.

Kolarov.

Demichelis looks absolutely knackered and should probably not be considered a decent starting option from now on.

Mangala isn't the brightest. I don't think we would have faired any better with Ottamendi though.

Nacho is not the answer to our Aguero back-up issues.

Manuel can help construct earthquake proof buildings yet can't prevent us from getting overrun by headless chickens and James Milner.

There's a fundamentally weak mentality at the club, the top want success, but the players can't seem to run away with the title. We should be clear by 8 points, yet we're behind a piss poor Leicester and United side.

If the top want success as in any business bring in the best manager.

Oh dear, we lost one match!!!!!

Before the international break we won in Sevilla and everyone was praising Pellers tactical decisions and the players

Manuel got it wrong yesterday, we will bounce back.... seriously guys, all these talks post (one) defeat are non sense

The Seville game was the exception rather than the norm in recent weeks unfortunately.

Fuck that, we should execute everyone employed by the club, demolish the ground and academy, sow the rubble with salt, dissolve the club and start again as Manchester Kneejerk City in the Isthmian North next season. With blue shorts.
