Just saying! Not that I agree with the changes high up, but one defeat turns to four, four turns to 8 and then it eventually spirals into a disappointing season which we should really be grabbing by the horns with United scraping at results, Chelsea being unbelievably shit and Arsenal being their usual inconsistent selves. Only three losses in the league but at home to West Ham and Liverpool and away to Tottenham are games we should be winning, which has become a reoccurring theme lately.
9 points lost and at the end of the season 9 points could be the difference between winning the league and loosing it.

Clearly yesterday was collateral damage for Wednesday night vs Juventus so we can top the group, but what is the point of topping the group if we're only going to get knocked out in the last 32 or last 16?
We're light years behind in the Champions League I'm afraid so it's not worth sacrificing a comfortable league winning position over just to qualify for an extra CL round.
 
Does anybody else find it ironic that all it now takes is a single bad result before the "Sack the Board" stuff comes out considering what we went through in the past?

But it's really 4 bad results ;)

We should get that Mourinho fucker in, he never loses to inferior opposition. Not like you'd see him losing to Klopp either and he won a league and league cup double.

why would you do that? both were equally as important as each other, and you could argue more damage was done given the manner of the defeat
no excuse whatsoever for intentionally sacrificing one game over another

I agree and I don't know why you would sacrifice one game over another, I've always said if your best team is available then play your strongest team. Taking Aguero off proved he was always planning on resting him for Wednesday night and dropping Otamendi and "player of the month" Fernandinho to the bench was also another sign that Wednesday night was on everyone's mind rather than the game in front of them.

Pellers always talks about taking it one game at a time but the truth is at the back of his mind he's trying to prioritise CL over the PL and in reality which are we most likely to win?

Or... Aguero wasn't fully fit and would have been at too high a risk of injury if he played the full match and Otamendi and Fernandinho only flew back from international duty extremely late on Thursday?

Why start a striker not fully fit? Argentina and Brazil played on the Saturday, they arrived back Thursday night, they had Friday to recuperate, jet lag doesn't last 2 full days and I'm sure they're use to it now and prep themselves whilst on the flight back, it's not like they fly economy class.

I think a poster hit it the nail on the head a while back. Perhaps some supporters remembering the 'old days' are wanting to make up for the lack of trophies over the years right now. Perhaps there is an irrational fear it may all be taken away from us again.

Aguero had the whole week to train and prepare with the squad, as did Demichelis and Mangala. I doubt Dinho and Otamendi trained once. I would have preferred to see them start as well but it's not as black and white as you're trying to make out.

Barca had no problem playing Neymar, who was ripping Real Madrid a new arsehole simultaneous to our pathetic performance. Not having them in training all week is irrelevant for us, since Pellegrini doesn't do anything different game by game. Sometimes it's almost like we don't even talk about the opposition prior to a match.

Neymar is an attacker in a free role. If you can't see the difference between that and a centre half in terms of training and drilling you're in no position to criticise any coach's decisions.
