Stoke away post match thread

this has got the end of bobbys era all over it, pellers knows hes goin, the players know hes goin and no one seems to give a fuck, its just like the cup final against wigan being played out every week

The problem is that they lift when they feel like it but the inevitable towlings like the 3 in the league so far and the two friendlies along with the losses like West Ham and Juventus at home which while perhaps not as pitiful are still irksome because we know inferior sides can close the deal time and again in similar situations to drag on the inevitable that was the signature of our season last year.

The only thing now is we are reaching new lows and more often so MP has to go for that fact alone and it should be done swiftly.

The fact that this year is the poorest the premiership has been for sometime ( better for the neutral albeit ) could be the kick in the guts we need because we really risk falling off the cliff with sides like Liverpool , Leicester , Spurs even Crystal Palace and Everton seeing an opportunity to dismantle the natural order.

Chelsea won't be playing Chumps next year and it could be the best thing for us as well to bring home the knowledge that when it comes to player recruitment and player management both on and off the field we need to up the anti by some margain.

You cannot afford to bring in players who are crocks waiting to happen or don't fit in with the so called holistic approach otherwise you turf that approach and hire proven winners who do the job no matter the cost to the so called entertainment side of things both on and off the field because that all they know and that's all they want.

As has been said above - another shambolic performance just before a European game. Doesn't MP realise that if we don't finish in the top four then there won't be any Champions League football. Two points out of twelve from our last four away games is totally unacceptable. I really feel for the travelling fans, they turn up in numbers, shout encouragement to their heroes and what do they get in return - absolute rubbish.

Today's result is all Yaya's fault, he didn't turn up for this game, invisible for the whole 95 minutes, and his teammates were wandering around looking for him. (Shit, just remembered he was injured that was why he wasn't there).

Being serious - we played that whole game with ten men, Bony is just not suited for our style of play - there is simply no movement from him for the "creative" players to put balls into space. Sterling took too many wrong options today trying to beat players rather than playing the ball into the box (Oh just a minute there was no one in the box to play to). The only defenders that seemed to try were Sagna and Otamendi the others were just not switched on defensively and Fernando was hopeless today, just when I thought he was coming good.

I honestly expected a half time reaction (as per Liverpool) but no, same starting 11 until the 60th minute.

I'm getting a bit pissed off at getting up in the early hours of the morning with great expectations only to have then shattered by players that don't perform. The only consolation I had today was that I was sitting in a nice warm house not suffering like those poor souls who were at the Britannia.

That's my two cents worth, its up to MP and the squad to turn it around YET AGAIN.

Hi BK. I am a season ticket holder who made the move to Auckland in October.

I still miss not being at the games and hate it when we lose, especially so meekly. However, the great thing about being in NZ is that I can get over it easier by enjoying a day out in the sun with my family!

Judging by recent performances it looks like I picked a great time to emigrate...

Hi Wanchope - you are so right, it is easier to get over defeats because there are (were in my case because I'm retired) no rags to "rub in" our lapses. Having said that it takes me a long, long time to get over any defeat to the rags. And it took me a couple of weeks to get over the loss to the spuds in the 1981 final.
Am I correct in assuming you watch the games through PremierLeaguePass.com? Prior to that becoming available I had to wathc the teletext transmissions on ESPN or the OS - that was so nerve racking in the game against QPR.
Out of interest we live in Paeroa which is near Thames, not too far from Auckland. And we came to NZ in 1974.

Still pissed off this morning after that car crash of a performance yesterday

Wonder if the players woke up in their Cheshire mansions feeling pissed off... Doubt it

They don't give a fuck. I was personally in the company of YYT after the car crash cup final and he couldn't give a toss when asked how he felt about the fans reaction

What shocks me is that anyone actually thought we would get anything from yesterday's game.

I knew before the game we had know chance and until Pep comes in the summer I'm afraid we will have a few more days like this.

I'm not worried though the owners made a plan three years ago and it's pretty obvious what is going on so id say relax blues.

The idea this is like the end of Mancini's reign is both interesting and worrying, but is it correct?
We were told the players and many others at the club were fed up of Mancini so he had to go. It's easier to change one manager than several players and many from the non-playing staff. But if the players knew he was going why were they so shite against Wigan at Wembley and then against Norwich in the final game of the season? They'd got their wish so why didn't they get on with the job?
If they won't work for Pellers then we're fucked as no decent manager will touch us with a barge pole as they won't want to work with players behaving as a set of petulant little shits.
There is the possibility they don't believe his tactics are suitable so are going on the pitch with a negative state of mind. That's not quite as bad but still leaves the possibility of the season petering out and us missing top four, which will reduce our attractiveness to potential successors.
Abramovic might be a clown, but Maureen is toast and Chelsea still have a few good players hidden amongst the arses. And Arsenne isn't getting any younger. We aren't necessarily the destination of choice for the manager "who can take us to the next level".
I'm hoping yesterday was just a rare collective bad day at the office, but I thought that after West Ham, Spurs, Liverpool and Villa. It's not rare, it's happening far too often.
I like Pellers as a person, I thank him for those two trophies a couple of seasons ago, but how much was down to him given the squad at his disposal.

I think yesterday was the collective impact of many players injured, the rest of the players consequently having played too many games, along with a gale force wind which eliminated the technical advantage we have. If Kompany were playing, I think we get something out of yesterday's game.

More concerned now about us playing this way against Arsenal and Leicester City

Neither MDM nor Fernando will be playing in those games which will immediately make us look better. And Aguero and Kompany could be back for both games. Add to that Arsenal missing several key players, and we should go to the Emirates with at least a 50/50 mentality. Leicester is an interesting one, but I think this coming stretch of tough games is where they will start to falter, and we may just be lucky enough to catch them on the down-swing.

Sums up my feelings too. Looking at the fixtures we have lost and the fixtures yet to come its difficult to believe it won't happen again without major changes to the current squad and management team. We are now a business first and a football club second so I have no doubt that the wheels are already in motion.

It was great while it lasted and while we wouldn't be typical City if we didn't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, that's not a sustainable business plan.

Because it's not the end of the world! And if you're being like that...plastic!
Plastic? I'm so plastic I've sufficient points to get away tickets on the first day of sale and have had a season ticket for over 40 years.
Looks like my "dickhead" comment was correct.
This is a thread for commenting on a poor performance. Your comment added nothing hence my insult.

haha - ok blue I'm taking it back, I know when I'm on a loser - CTID.

I can accept City being unlucky on the day, the other team having a better game than us and poor conditions affecting our game. What I can't and won't accept is a lack of effort and it was so blatantly apparent that half the players on that pitch couldn't be bothered on Saturday.

One of the City fans next to me at the game gave me a bit of shit for booing that players off at half time, he was definitely in the minority. I justified myself to him by saying I'd give my right arm to be in their position, I'd run through brick walls. There are some players on that pitch who don't give a shit about our club, they show up for their paychecks and that's it.

I'd rather have had Manu Garcia, Kelechi and Cameron Humphries on the pitch than David Silva, Bony and Demichelis - they'd have put a shift in and 'tried'.

I know Silva has been injured and so on, but you can't tell me the guy should be on the pitch if he can't jog 5 yards to mark a player on the 30th minute, it's down right lazy and if he couldn't do it he shouldn't have been on the pitch!

If I was one of those players I'd be so embarrassed I'd refund all 3,000 of us who went.

The only team with a technical advantage were playing at home. They played some lovely football and cut through us like the proverbial hot knife. Something which Southhamton managed recently after we went asleep after 25 mins and Liverpool done all night long. I'm sorry but injuries and tiredness just are not acceptable excuses for a defence which is the worst I've seen in years at City. If the manager cannot sort this out and quickly he should be sacked and replaced by someone who can even if this has to be an interim appointment. However, I am willing to give Pellegrini one last chance mainly because (Leicster excluded) our major opponents are equally shit and there is still time to rectify the damage. Also in the past he has managed to pull something out of the fire when things were looking bad e.g. after the shambles at the rags last season. Yes I agree that Kopmpany is crucial but to be honest hand on heart does anybody believe that he can stay fit for 3-4 months and lead us out of the woods. Keep the faith

I think we shouldn't have sold Edin Dzeko.
Aguero injured, Nacho needs a lot of time and Bony has been both injured and not at his best.
Desperately need a proper striker
