Everton post-match thread

Perhaps the squad and the manager really don't care about this cup that's worth... 100k pounds and is the third tier competition in the nation?
-they have to say they care because of the media etc...but let's be honest with ourselves... do we as fans even care about this?

the concern is all because this quality keeps showing as a trend. this individual game though...who cares? i don't

You're joking right? De Bruyne tracks his man better than anyone in the side bar Sterling.
We must have seen things differently mate, many a time players sailed past him and he didn't even try to bust a gut to put pressure on giving them time and space to punish us. He's a brilliant player but would be even better if he put himself about a bit. Next time we play watch how he wont go fully in for a 50/50 challenge, it''s like he's fucking scared of being hurt.

I'm not saying I want him to be another Dinho in defence, but even if he doesn't make the tackle, at least close the space and apply pressure to the opposition when they are in possession and he's the nearest man. Time after time this put us under unnecessary pressure.

Their back four did not look troubled at all, and that is a defence that was including a Leighton Baines who looks nearly a stone overweight.

What a bunch of pathetic, negative fuck-wits you lot are...

What has the club I love done to deserve such a bunch of wimpy, miserable, moaning gits as so called supporters?

Everton played well.

It was a great game of football.

It was played it a good, sporting manner.

It is only the end of the first half...

And, much to my utter delight, the hard working Navas scored (with his left foot).

City have no devine right to win every match they play.

Liverpool v City Final.

City win with Sterling scoring the winner in the 90th minute.

JJ.

I feel we have right to expect a bit of organisation and passion though.

I'm really confused how Toure is getting criticised today and not the whole team for not closing down (yet again).

I think we almost have too many players waiting for someone else to make the tackle so they can be part of the counter attack.
Because that's the agenda here.

Silva is the world's most rounded player and Yaya is a fat lazy turd.

I actually LOL'd at the final substitution. Maybe it was the commentator's description which tailed off as he realised who was replacing who. Classic stuff.

As soon as we equalised I immediately just thought that we'd need at least one more just to get a draw. Didn't take long. Martin looks lost.

We really, really miss Kompany. Without him there is zero leadership. On and off the pitch. Get the fucker on the touchline. Remind the cunts what's expected.

We simply don't work hard enough, for long enough. 20 minutes (if that) of full intensity per game won't cut it against decent teams. Like Everton.

These fuckers are in for a shock when Pep arrives.

And.. Why the fuck didn't we start Kelechi? How the fuck is he supposed to improve or show what he can do, if he isn't given a fucking chance!? Should've started with Aguero coming on for the last 30. Or the other way around. Aguero also needs the rest so for any manager with a clue it'd be a no brainer. Eh? Oh.

Long way to go yet but if we lack intensity, again, in the 2nd leg then we can forget it.

Whole team was shit going forward, aguero made an assist but did fuck all the while game and missed a sitter, kdb did jack, silva too n yaya

Mangala coming off for no reason and brings on demi who's a liability in the air against lukaku

Sterling should've come on

Substitution of the week goes to fernando

I don't think silva did too bad and why is everone slating KDB? He didn't do too badly
In the home games KDB has been outstanding, full of energy and chasing lost causes all over. I did however think the team selection and two of the substitutions were just outrageous though.

Is anyone actually enjoying watching us at the moment because I ain't. At the end of the month I have to go for root canal surgery at the dentist, I know I have to go, it's essential that I do go, however I don't want to and it's going to be very painful.

Sums up how I feel about City at the moment.

I wouldn't put it quite as strongly as you have, but no, it's not too good to watch. It's generally all a bit predictable and it looks like we're just too used to having things our own way. The moment we come across a team that fancies putting up a real fight, we struggle.

Yaya epitomises it above all others. Always up for a nice jolly stroll about on the pitch, but not quite up for a 90 minute battle. I can understand he's not built for a 90 minute battle these days, but Pellers need to stop relying on him as though he were. It's not all his fault though - we're simply a pretty predictable team who don't respond very well to being chased down all game.

+1
this is what i want to say every time i read these threads... so thank you for expressing my thought so well... cheers
every game we've played... the team we face play out of their skin to match up... i would love to see real stats on how teams do right after they play us or exhaust themselves against us... i know Stoke, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc. certainly did not do well... to name a few...
90 more minutes to go...

2-1 away is a decent result in a two legged tie, but it should have been 2-2 if the referee wasn't a bent twat. Every week we seem to be denied a stonewall penalty and it's getting ridiculous.

As for the game, first half was tough but pretty even. They had a couple of very offside "goals", but other than that were pretty quiet before the goal. Second half was a defensive trainwreck with Demichelis once again showing that he isn't fit to wear the shirt anymore unfortunately, while Otamendi went to shit as well throwing himself in and constantly missing out. Clichy looked well off the ace throughout, but luckily Sagna continues to be a rock. I'd rather throw Kean Bryan or even Humphries in at CB while Mangala is out because they can't be any worse than Demichelis.

Yaya was useless, as usual in high tempo games. Navas once again changed the game, finally scoring as well which should help no end. Aguero did well on the goal, but is still clearly finding his fitness. We should have scored more in that second half, but we are in a great position to win this.

That was a total shambles .
City fans were brilliant tonight .
City team was pathetic !!!

All I saw before the game was man city fans saying Everton are crap and totally disrespectful comments

I would hope it teaches man city fans to become more humble

But sadly I highly doubt it, well done Everton totally deserved

God just go and wank over York Away will you.

I'm sorry

I need to be shouted down by the I <heart> pellegrini fan club.
I'm feeling disloyal and need putting in my place before I call him a **** or something equally unkind

I understand your frustrations but we're past the point of no return with the manager now. We can only get behind the team and hope that this season turns out ok. Having said that, roll on June.
