Everton post-match thread

a 2-1 loss at Everton in a two legged semi is not a bad result,i think most teams would take that if offered before a ball is kicked, still in all competitions post new year is an achievement not many clubs can brag about but i just scratch my head at how we are still in all 4 comps, its not going to be long before we get a serious thumping, lets hope its not in a Wembley final, MP is well out of his depth and should have the decency to put his coat on and walk

How the fuck is it racist? Jesus wept.

What site did you use?

As i nrecall, aftter the first half we had 33% possesion vs 66% for Everton. I guess we got more possesion then second half, especially when Everton were down to 10. But did we suddently had 66% or more possesion in the 2nd half? Sorry Sir Knob, but i don't see it.
BBC, Sky Sports say 47/53% possession. No way did you watch this match, with 10 men they took the piss possession-wise!

The absolute nonsense I'm reading on here is beyond belief... are these really Man City fans who watched us when we were 'really' shit....More shots, more possession, blatant penalty not given and an offside goal to boot. We were unlucky tonight but I have absolute confidence we will turn them over at the Etihad, absolutely no concerns. The fact is win at home and we are through as I can't see a 3-2 for example and I certainly can't see us losing,

That said it would help if the fans actually support the team on the night.

This is it in a nutshell. No team can play with 3 players, Silva, Yaya & De Bruyne ,who don't work as hard as the opposition without the ball. I think we will still go through but it's the manner of these defeats which is worrying. On a sidenote, John Stones looks a fantastic prospect, if we had him we would be a helluva lot stronger.

Yes, Stones is so comfortable on the ball and is just what we need if we are going to get Pep

The problem is that teams don't play out of their skins, that's a fucking myth. they just put in there normal hard graft for 90 mins and contest every ball, that is normally more than enough to trouble us and get a result. I'll tell you something else too, if we are not in the champions league (and given our atrocious away form that isn't a gimme) they'll be no pep either. The club needs to grow a pair and sack this charlatan now and get someone in to babysit us.
Benitez till the end of season. Great knowledge of how to win in Europe and knows how to set a team up. We can't keep getting away with this level of performance and lack of commitment and expect to win cups and titles the players have downed tools.

What a bunch of pathetic, negative fuck-wits you lot are...

What has the club I love done to deserve such a bunch of wimpy, miserable, moaning gits as so called supporters?

Everton played well.

It was a great game of football.

It was played it a good, sporting manner.

It is only the end of the first half...

And, much to my utter delight, the hard working Navas scored (with his left foot).

City have no devine right to win every match they play.

Liverpool v City Final.

City win with Sterling scoring the winner in the 90th minute.

JJ.

Normally i would agree, but how long does it continue now? Something like a year?
It wasn't great game of football, Everton schooled us how to play.

Barry looked like Xavi against us.

Yaya runs slower than snails and loses ball every minute.

When all the world can see that something is wrong, Pellers change CB at HT ( if that could change anything) leaving Yaya for whole game so we get outruned and outpleeyd.

And when they are down to 10 man we bring, who? Fucking Fernando, leaving Sterling, Kelechi on the bench, because we have score we should defend.... 2-1 down

You can lose games, it's not a dishonour, but if you lose them in such a manner, EVERY FUCKING TIME, for a year, don't be suprised that people will get frustarted.

From our last 5 away games, we didn't win in how many? 4.... 1 in 5 great result for a team that want to win the league.

Don't fool Yourself, if we win anything this year, playing like that, it's not our tittle won, it means someone else bottled it....

Pellers has to go, right now. We can seriously lose top 4 playing this shit every game...

He changed BEST DEFENCE in the league for 3 years in row into what we have seen today.

No tactic, fantastic substitutions, no energy, no pressing, zero defending, no passion, nor desire...

This what you wanna see from City every week?

You can always say "get behind the team", "we can't win every game" etc. But if City fans start to be scared facing any team in the Prem (and rightly so). Something is wrong...

There is an in between in all this. There are proper flappers and there are the ones sat on their high horse how people shouldn't be annoyed and are going ott.

Whilst I appreciate we are still in the competition and the tie is still in the balance it can't be ignored we was poor yet again on the road, it also can't be ignored how little we create with the forward thinking players we have.

Players and manager need a very long hard look at themselves

It's not the result, it's the manner of it that's annoying.

Looked lethargic again. Like we couldn't be arsed after 20 minutes.

Yaya was absolute shit. No other way to describe him, really.

Thought Delph looked good when he was on. As did De Bruyne.

This malaise is continuing, however, and has been going on for months.

Are we really just tossing this season away just to sit on our hands waiting for Pep?

On tonight's evidence it seems that way.

Shoddy performance all round, careless defending, a lack of penetration up front. An opportunity to make the return leg a relatively easy night spurned in my view through the attitude of the team. They are of course quite capable of being 3 up after 20 mins of the second leg and may well win the second leg comfortably......on the other hand we could fuck it up, get a duff ref decision and so on and get knocked out.

How that ref didnt give a penalty when Navas had his legs taken away is beyond me...but when you play like City did tonight its those decisions that bite you in the arse...needless loss the players need a rocket up thier arse.

Pretty sure that was a "last 5 minutes" stat.

Of course not happy at the result, but very do-able to get the the final. Will be interested to see how damaging lukaku's injury is.

Aside from the result, have to say I thought the referee was off his tits tonight. Summed up for me when he finally awarded us a free kick, sprays out his stuff to mark ten yards, then proceeds to let the Everton wall encroach over it before the free kick is taken, which ended up hitting the wall! Incompetent doesn't nearly cover it, hope he's being assessed on that .

Maybe its me but......
no de bruyne and win first five games
he comes in..scores but we lose to west ham
since then very poor
sevilla away no de bruyne. Amazing performance
the balance is not there
hes a good player. But is it to detriment of the team?

Don't understand the negativity on here. Shame we didn't hold onto that draw. Just what will it take for us to get a penalty in a crucial game? It's been about 4 games in a row that we haven't been awarded penalties that have been given so many times before in other games.

I wish someone had continued to document this

Go and have a lie down mate, that was fucking rubbish , Everton are an average team, as are Watford and Stoke who also gave us the run around , you may wank over Navas scoring his first goal in sixteen months but me mate Everton thouroughly deserved there win- in fact if it wasn't for Lukaku continually going offside like a fucking amateur it could easily have been 3 or 4 one.

This manager is fucking average, you can bleat all day long about fucking percentage wins at Madrid, blah blah fucking blah but he's been found out 12 months ago by average managers.

Thank fuck he's off in June, I'd wager the players can't fucking wait either judging by there inept half arsed performances , Mancini lost the dressing room and we were served up shit football towards the end - what's Pellegrinis fucking excuse- after all every **** wants to take him for Sunday lunch and just love his style of easy on the eye I fucking love you boys style football .

They are not playing for him, that much is evident.

I didn't think the result was a complete disaster. People need to remember that we are fighting in four competitions and still have an extremely good chance of going through in this one! Aguero's assist for the goal was fantastic :)

I find it mystifying how dreadful we are at the moment. With the wealth of attacking options we have we barely create a jot. Tonight was just another bad result in a long list of bad results that we've had this season. Pellegrini can't go quick enough in my opinion
