Everton post-match thread

I seen that you posted the the possession stats for the first half that were hugely in favour of Everton,

I was looking at BBC sports (and I know they are a bit shite) but they had it 47/53 in City's favour.

I think that is a fairer reflection. Not that we did fuck all with it.

Could be, though i must say it did look like Everton had a lot more possesion. Hey i can accept it if someone would give me some good source for it, i only replied to that guy with my observations like for ex. the fact that we did have more shots but hardly any on target, and it didn't look to me we had lots of possesion.

You have to suspect this Pep saga is indeed having an effect and could see us win sod all and even miss out on top 4....it needs to be dealt with and concluded. Pep and all the fuss about him need to fuck off until the end of this season as far as the team and frankly the supporters are concerned.
Sorry purple but its only blues that are constantly on about it

Whist not making a case for this seasons away performances I do think the idea that we're everyone's cup final isn't so farfetched. The teams that have beaten us haven't exactly gone on a run afterwards, suggesting that we are not exactly easy to get the better of, in spite of how its perceived on here. Arsenal beat us and got done 4-0 next game. Stoke followed up with a 0-0 and a 1-2 defeat. Liverpool beat the might Swansea then lost to Newcastle, following the Klopping they gave us. Drew 0-0 with Villa who lost 4-0 next game. Spurs drew their next 2, after beating us and West Ham drew 2-2 at home to Norwich.

To all the doom and gloom merchants - "You can't polish a turd"
To all the happy clappers - "But you can roll it in glitter"

Agree with this, our defenders get dogs abuse, look at their 2nd goal, no body anywhere near attempting to stop the cross, when we don't have the ball YaYa is useless, still should turn this one round, Pep can't get here quick enough.

Our defence takes more stick than it deserves. We play such an open game, but we don't do it well enough. It's leaving us far to exposed. We are not good enough in possession to play the type of game Manuel wants.

Kidd's an excellent number two and perfectly capable of seeing us through the remaining 18 league games, i'd certainly be lifted at the thought of him taking over until the end of season, rather that than having this dross served up every week

Kidd left the rags to take charge at Blackburn Rovers in December 1998, replacing Roy Hodgson who had been sacked after Blackburn's poor start to the season left them in the relegation zone. Despite Kidd having a promising start with Rovers, which saw him voted Premier League Manager of the Month and having also spent nearly £20 million on new players in his first four months in charge,[3] he was unable to save them from being relegated from the Premier League (just four years after being champions) and Kidd was dismissed on 3 November 1999 with Rovers standing 19th in Division One.

Played poor but if the stonewall penalty had been given we would be even better placed. We will win by 2 and hopefully one or two can find some form before the CL games.

The positives:
  1. We scored another away goal.
  2. Navas scored a goal at last. So pleased for him.
  3. Our fans were superb.
  4. It's only 2-1 and still winnable.
The negatives:
  1. Our supposed world-class players (Toure, Silva, De Bruyne and Aguero) were utterly wank and without any redeeming features.
  2. Our defence was poor.
  3. Our midfield was non-existent and it's no surprise our goal came the way it did.
  4. When Everton moved the ball we stood aside and allowed them to take it wherever they wanted without any pressure.
  5. There was no sense of us moving as a team and getting compact as a unit when we needed to defend. In contrast, when we moved the ball, the Everton team was compact and well-organised behind the ball.
  6. Too many shit-houses in our midfield who just stand and watch their opponents with the ball, with (at best) a half-hearted attempt to pressure them.
  7. The subs, apart from Navas for Delph. That last one was a fucking disgrace.
There is no sense of any organisation or plan either when we're attacking or defending. It's an absolute shambles and if I was Txiki Begiristain I'd be kicking Pellegrini's arse all round the dressing room then, when I'd finished with the manager, kicking some of those over-paid prima-donnas.

But Txiki hides behind Pellegrini .Having a wank Manager distracts attention from his appalling record in the transfer market.
The Guardiola smokescreen is also distracting from his mismanagement of the situation. Its like telling the Mrs your moving your mistress in this Summer but expecting her to carry on making your tea.. If Pep for some reason goes elsewhere and I would put a few quid on Arsenal (especially if they win the Title) then txiki should be kicked out with a boot up his arse.
His so called 'spanish attraction to pep" has ruined 2 seasons now with a some special players achieving nothing........

For me midfield in next game has to be
fernandinho
delph
sterling
navas
silva

bring toure and de bruyne off bench if need be
just turn up and want it
silva in in to get match fitness
get zaba in fir that too

I didn't see the game as I live in NZ and am at work but from what I have read, their first goal was offside and we should have had a stonewall pen. We had twice as many shots on goal and shaded possession.

This reminds me of our semi with the rags in 2010. Beat them 2-1 at home in our "cup final" just like it was Everton's "cup final" tonight. Rags went on to win the 2nd leg (90th minute - twats). I have a feeling that we will do to the Toffees what the rags did to us 6 years ago.

Just trying to keep positive. But if the fecking farmers beat us on Saturday Pellers can feck off.

Keep trying to convince myself that we will start to click , seriously doubting it now , we are so lethargic and disjointed.

Navas scored, that's unfortunately much more shocking than us losing the game.

Don't think De Bruyne's workrate was all that bad. He must have had 3 or 4 tackles/interceptions in the first 20 minutes. Perhaps why we stayed on the front foot in that period.

It all just looks too disjointed and labored. Kind of like at the end of Mancini's reign. Team seems not just out of ideas, but frustratingly unable to even execute what they have. Time and again now we're giving up goals on the first real shot of the match.

The MDM sub, however, was completely baffling. I am no fan of Mangala but Lukaku is practically the prototype of the Striker he can play against. If you've watched a lot of Everton they typically have Lukaku on the end of all kinds of things. He wasn't in our CBs pocket in the 1st half but he was less effective than he often is.

Feel depressed obviously and will wait until the end of the season for the inquest (hopefully not before!!!) but at the moment........these performances are almost identical week after week after week, the subs and tactics are also very similar, MDM has just about gone as a player but is still heavily involved.... WTF is going on??

I'd go with:

Fernando/Delph/Fernandinho/Silva/Sterling behind Aguero and see how that works in our next away game.

You could swap De Bruyne for Silva if you like. But the biggest change is to how we defend. I think that front 6 would give us a better chance forwards and backwards
