Post Match Thread: Kiev 1 - 3 City

Just got back to my hotel near Boryspil airport, flight back leaves in five-and-a-half hours!

And as a first away day in Europe, I'd like to say: GET THE FUCK IN!!!!!!!

Bloody loved it! Good show by the 500 who made it over here, and a great performance by the team on the whole (ok, not perfect, but surely should see us through).

This could get quite addictive!!

One non-football thought: the Kiev fans we spoke to were great, even going as far as sharing a fan's Ukrainian whisky in the weird queue/mob/scrum to get in. Yet the Ukrainian police (and seemingly the Army too) felt it right to keep us back 30 minutes, which only served to wind up every City fan; a calm and happy atmosphere slowly degenerating to a rather more frustrated and aggressive situation. And when we got out, there was literally no-one about except half a dozen scarf sellers!

Kiev were terrible other than a ten minute spell in the second half. Let's not get carried away, we pretty much got the easiest draw possible and they hadn't played a proper game for three months.

But we were as good as they were terrible. We got the tactics right, the formation right, the team selection right, we defended well, we kept the ball when we needed to well, we created chances and scored some lovely goals.
A fair synopsis rather than the piss take that passes fort punditry on ITV

We made them look like that we stop what we doing in second half and guess what they looked better and they scored! At our best we make 99% of teams look poor

ITV, BBC, SKY, BT, Daily Mirror, Sun, Daily Mail, Telegraph, and anyone else worth a mention. Is there anyone wishing to praise our club/owner/academy/ / / / Orrr are they just being sneaky and not wanting to admit that they are shit scared on what the future holds for Manchester City?

One of the best performances of the season. Total control, could have scores ten. Everyone was excellent.

What's there to moan about? Other than moaning for moanings sake.
I'm being a bit of smartarse - you are moaning that we didn't score ten.

How many passes preceded our second goal? It seemed like we had the ball forever. Just watched the highlights and they only showed from Vinny's pass to Clichy for the long pass - if it was Barca, they'd be raving about a footballing master class.

Precisely, I was wondering in the first half if Pep had given the pre-match team talk there was that much pressing high up the park but fair play to Pellegrini for setting us up correctly. Great to see all our big players on the pitch and in form, bodes well for the rest of the season. And I hope Sterling's more extreme critics, both on here and at the matches, can see what a prospect he is.

Fuck that! I'll get carried away with taking a 3-1 aggregate back to the Etihad...every...single...time. You just try and stop me :-)

Not sure why they'd be scared. You watch what happens when Pep turns up.

Great away result, no complaints at all. Let's not get carried away Seville style and think we've done a job on a European heavyweight because we haven't at all. But great result and I'm pleased

Fuck off pundits and rag trolls crawl back into your bitter holes and caves and stop acting like glass half empty to neanderhsld.
No we didn't, the exsperts said they were shit don't you know!!!!!!!!!
Something was put in Kiev's team halftime team. Of this we can be certain
