Manu Garcia Player Thead 15/16

Think he has very little chance of making it at City... Zero pace or strength though so could never make an efficient winger or central midfielder in the Premier.

Its as much about your movement off the ball as it is what you do on it and the lad was never stood still, never going the opposite direction to hide, he was straight into space, looking for the pass.
That was the most impressive thing about him, but we have to remember it was against probably the worst ever PL team we've played, and they were 4-0 down, their midfield hadn't competed all afternoon, and had effectively downed tools, so we need to keep in perspective.

He needs more cameos like that, against better sides, before we know if he can sustain it.

I'm not knocking him, just being realistic, and keeping my expectations in check for now.

I think to talk about Garcia being great v Villa in the 15 minutes he was on is a bit OTT. It was Villa, they were 4 nil down and had effectively stopped trying so there was space in the middle of the park and little in the way of serious challenging. That doesn't mean he didnt look the part as he did and slotted in effortlessly but really apart from making simple passes and being available he didn't do anything. Once the penalty had been missed and Yaya went off we actually didn't look like scoring.

For the record i think Garcia is a top class talent with massive potential but I just don't think we should be using the word great when it's not warranted.

Already posted this in post match thread.

Obviously he bags of time and space v Villa but it was the way he played his passes and the weight and accuracy: in the same situation, a lot of his more experienced colleagues don't pass like that. Too early to know if he will even make it but I got the same vibe as when I first saw Nacho and when KDB came on at Palace. Be nice if Pep could turn him into a Xaviesque star.

I think his stature is a concern but no doubt he can bulk up. He covers the ground very well and looks an extremely intelligent passer who moves the ball quickly. Hope the lad can become a fixture.

If he was left footed and you didn't know the team sheet, it would take a while before you realised it wasn't Silva which is saying something. Looks special for 18 and at least he can keep hold of the ball and recycle it which is all too absent from our midfielders!

Well done, I didn't think it would happen but you've just hit a new low for Bluemoon

The lad has only just turned 18, made his first ever start two weeks ago and has thirty minutes top flight football to his name with an assist and a goal and you've already wriiten him off, well done you.

I despise the likes of you.
This kind of thing is getting more and more prevalent, and it's getting depressing and irritating. I wouldn't advocate this place turning into RAWK, but something needs to be done sharpish.

So if it's a young player you can't say you don't think he'll go on to become a top class player at City? It's fine to say Bony is absolutely fucking shite but giving an opinion on a player based on watching him many times as opposed to a short cameo against Villa is out of order. Xavi and Iniesta comparisons already being made, no pressure Manu lad.

In respect to my Xavi and Iniesta comments, it was purely a reply to your comment about Manu's perceived lack of pace. I can assure you I'm not comparing him to either player this early in his career, so there's no pressure on the 18 year old from me fella.

If you think he's not good enough to make it here, that's your opinion which I respect albeit being one I don't agree with. I've only seen fleeting glimpses of him, but from what I have seen, I think we have a star in the making.

Fair enough mate. He's a very talented player and I hope he proves me wrong and goes on to have a great career for us.

Manu Garcia will follow Rekik , Lopes , Suarez---(anymore?)....out of the club. - unfortunately.

Funny that. The only thing I and many others have called from day one was Manuel's reckless abandonment of our defensive solidity and his obsession with all out attack. We all questioned how long it would last before other teams figured us out and to our teams detriment unfortunately this turned out to be the case sooner rather than later. This is the Premier League and you take other teams as mugs at your own peril as the fact we haven't beaten a top team all season has proved.

So the only deluded flip flopping know nowt around here is you. Pellegrini in, great guy Pellgrini his all out attacking 442 will just take a bit of time to get used to, Pellegrini out, support Pellegrini, Pep in, great job Pellegrini, fuck Pellegrini again, to can't wait for next season and Pep.

You need to engage whatever passes for your brain before you continue to spout utter irrelevant crap on the internet fella. If as someone alluded to your posts are some kind of audition for you to become a Mod on here, I can safely predict we'll all be spared your Inspector Blakey style officialdom.

As for Manu Garcia, he's our future and deserved more game time than he's been afforded so far this season. Hopefully this will be addressed in the coming seasons.

I'm sure your mates on here followed that and agree lol

I am curious as to just how long small, technical players have to dominate the world before the "big strong lads" brigade start to notice that being a physical specimen isn't the be all and end all of football.

The best compliment you can give Garcia is that he has never looked like a youth team player whenever he's played for the senior team. He slots straight in and looks like he belongs there and he has done ever since his debut in preseason. He's clearly got the right mentality to succeed

Yup I'm sure most would agree you should represent the UK at this summer's Olympics, because you'd be a shoe-in for the flip flop.

#failedmodinterviewmiserably

WTF are you rambling on about?

Flip flop?

Failed mod interview?

I honestly feel that if given a run in the team he would impress as much as kelechi. Like silva, playmakers are usually underappreciated compared to strikers but manu is special

There's no guarantees with any player, but I just have a feeling about this lad. Hope he lives up to his potential with us mate.

In terms of technical ability I think he's one of the best we've produced in a long while. The concern is whether he will develop the required physicality to survive in the Prem, particularly as he doesn't appear to have a great deal of pace or height to fall back on. Hopefully we'll put the right support network around him on the field and bring him on under Pep

For Manu see David Silva. I honestly think if he's good enough he won't have a problem with the physicality of the Premier League.

As others have said, he doesn't look like a youth player when he plays with the 1st team. He slots in seamlessly.

Showed some good touches once again on Saturday. Confident lad for his age as well.

Definitely going to be in the 1st team squad from next year, Hoping Brahim will be as well.
