A dipper I know claimed that Sergio's wasn't a penalty because he reckoned that while there had been contact , there was not enough contact to bring him down. Was very similar to Agueros in the cup final imo.
You disagree with me. Great. I think I'm right and there are plenty of former pros that agree with me. There'd 10x as many fouls of each instance such as that was given as a foul. He wasn't impeded. He felt contact and dived and the lino guessed.Wasn't what? contact or 'enough' contact? Either way I disagree.
The defender was unlucky in that he pulled out of the challenge and yet his knee still caught Benteke. Definitely tripped him though for me.
A tap tackle makes one foot kick the other. That didn't happen. For me it was akin to a tap tackle in rugby - just a tap on the boot enough to bring 18 stones down.
Zero point posting the picture. No one is arguing against there being contact but as stated, 'contact' doesn't equal a foul.yes, if that was against my team or whoever. its a daylight penalty.
the blokes knee has caught the players foot at full speed and tripped him over.

Not for me. Contact wasn't huge on either, but IMO enough to unbalance a player going at pace. Another similar one was Aguero against CSKA last season, which I thought at first was a dive but didnt catch the kick at the foot. The Benteke one was similar to the Aguero one?
That's a bit of a stretch mate.
I know one on another forum that thought Aguero wasnt a penalty, but Benteke was pretty clear. But he's a bit like that.A dipper I know claimed that Sergio's wasn't a penalty because he reckoned that while there had been contact , there was not enough contact to bring him down.
So it's not about contact in itself but about the degree of contact, depending on which side you're on.
I haven't yet heard his view about Benteke's attack of gravity yesterday.
Doesn't have to make one foot hit the other at all - just needs to unbalance the player.A tap tackle makes one foot kick the other. That didn't happen.
But the difference in contact, even if you say it wasn't huge, was still more than enough for Aguero to tumble over. Cutting inside like he did and a trailing leg purposely being left out is a penalty whatever yardstick you use.Not for me. Never seen a player fall without tripping himself.Doesn't have to make one foot hit the other at all - just needs to unbalance the player.
Are you talking about soft cunts like Lineker, biased cunts like Carragher or top hard old pros like Gray and Souey.Lol, there are plenty of ex pro's sharing my view, means fuck all.
Nah your ok. Still a pen for me and if we had similar would expect it to be given. Anyway I'm sounding like I give a shit so back to reading rather than commenting:)'Contact' has nothing to do with it. Check the laws of the game.
