West Brom pre-match thread

This is a must win game. Apart from tomorrow the rags have a piss easy run in. Only hindsight will tell us whether this is a good selection or not. Personally, I would have played our best team and looked to rest players after an hour if possible. Not gonna get too carried away with the Bony issue. Yes he has been shit but hopefully he will start to look half the player he did at Swansea. Everyone slagged off Willy before the cup final and look what he did. Let's hope the same happens with Bony ( I doubt it though!)

Rock and a hard place trying to pick a team for today. Should be solid enough to keep west brom out but I don't see many goals in our team with that set up. Going to be a close one.

Like someone else said earlier in the thread, Pellegrini said it himself after the Capital One Cup Final: "I would rather lose a final than my word".

The only logical explanation to Bony playing is that Pellegrini has made a similar promise to Bony, i.e he will play as the number 2 striker whenever we play 2 up top or whenever Aguero isn't playing.

I don't care how polite the man is, Khaldoon or Txiki should have intervened by now and told him that Bony can't play.

It's not just that Bony is lazy, lacks and positional sense, can't shoot on target from simple positions, can't control or pass a ball. He also makes the team around him play worse as Aguero is shunted further from goal to accommodate him, and you can see that the midfield will only pass to him when they have to. Unless West Bromwich are already on their holidays (which I doubt because Pulis is a bitter **** rag arse licker after Gillingham and Stoke) I think we will be in for a long afternoon. Hope I'm wrong though.

Watching the pre-match passing in a box routine, and Nasri looks so far off the pace even in a simple warm up exercise.

People who are angry with MP resting players seriously need a hit on their head and get their bloody priorities straight. You guys seriously want to ruin our CL chances by putting out a full strength squad against WEST BROM? God stand by me. The team that has been put out has still way more quality than West Brom. PSG are resting all their outfield players today. If it was up to me Aguero wouldn't even be on the bench and Kelechi would've started ahead of him. We need to be at our best come tuesday, so cry me a river. Would much rather lose here and beat PSG. We will get top 4, no matter how hard you flappers convince yourselves we wont.
If we lose to WBA at home, how the fuck could anyone be confident about getting top four?

Conversely, we could play all the big guns and not be leading after 75 mins and then there burnt out for Tues

Of course not, early changes no matter what, but you try to scare the opposition and go for it from the off, not give them a gee up and risk the game turning into a struggle.

No question which of those two options suits Tuesday better.

How do you know Nacho didn't pick up a knock in training this week?

Shocker of a team - get a grip

There's barely any creativity in that team, mate.

Nasri is the one creative outlet and he's been injured for 6 months!

And as for Bony, Pellegrini has form for picking Bony over Kelechi regardless. And it's ridiculous.

Understand that team rotation was required . but then with arse n hammers dropping points and united playing tomorrow , we just have to win today ..to put pressure on top four rivals ... we have a very god opportunity to take advantage of arsenal slip up and put pressure on united before they face Kane and company ..Bony ..Delph ..whoever starts ... squad rotation or whatever ..a loss today or even a draw is just not an option ....

I told you. PSG have rested players. Yes, Pellers knows they have won the league, but he is focused on going out in a blaze of glory in the CL.

If Pellers drops points today, he believes he will get them back in future games. But his focus is PSG.
