Not watched him a lot, but 2 games this week and he's not impressed me one bit.
Great player.Telling you, if you are looking for a young un in the Premier League, then Virgil Van Dijk is the boy we should be looking at. He is gonna get picked up very soon from a big team
We should always be striving to build a side of the best English talent. More often than not the best domestic sides have a strong national core. That's before we consider the issues of home grown player quotas etc.
Better than Fernandinho? Oh dearWatched the second half last night and I gotta say I'm very impressed by him. Obviously he's still raw but I'm convinced of his raw talent and now I can see why Pep wants him so much. Just from what I've seen last night he can already be a holding midfielder. His passing and ball retention is very good, already better than Fernando and Fernandinho I've gotta say. His defensive awareness is lacking but really there is no world class defender at the age of 21. I think Pep believes he can teach Stones defensive awareness more easily than teaching Mangala to be a better ball-player.
He was superb last night, he needs to be in a team that knows how to defend, as well as a side which provides options for the defense to pass too.

He was poor for the first half, had a very good second 45 then blew it in the last minute by not being aware of his positioning and allowing Martial to get wrong side and score the winner. He was superb last night, he needs to be in a team that knows how to defend, as well as a side which provides options for the defense to pass too.
I have said before that I haven't watched him play a lot. But my post before was only referring to his play on the second half last night.Better than Fernandinho? Oh dear
