The battle for 4th place

Do

Doubt it seeing there,s only 3 games to go

3 LEAGUE games left AND possibly 3 CHAMPS LEAGUE games left

So, possibly six games left. :) Oh, and the maths was right too.

ANYWAY.......
(now onto my general point so from now on it's not aimed at you kippax4ever)

I can't believe anybody wants Spurs to win tonight. I've read and understood all of your reasoning and possible scenarios for the remainder of the season and, with respect, I disagree with them. I want to catch that bunch of north lan-dan cvnts. I want second place to be ours. We're more than capable of putting a winning streak together in the league for the last three games (as are Spurs TBH) despite our other commitments, and I want that to mean something, I want that to result in something.

So...

Come on you baggies, park that bus and get a result tonight.

Nope we need a Spuds win tonight. Last thing we need is Leicester taking their foot off the pedal and getting beat by the rags on Sunday. Especially since we could very easily lose to Southampton and Arsenal our next two games.

Guys does anyone know what happens if we finish 6th, but Leicester get done for doping, then Liverpool the same because of Sakho, then United are reinstated and win the EL, but finish 5th with us not winning the CL but winning the fair play league, despite already being in the EL from winning the cup?

We really are a unique fan base aren't we?
Lots of our fans are confident of beating Madrid tomorrow.
Others think we'll lose to Southampton & Arsenal and beat Madrid.

The odd thing is we are likely to beat Madrid as we are to lose to Arsenal.

Do we think City fans will ever change?

Half the joy about being a City is not knowing what the fuck can happen and knowing anything can happen.

Villa win the champions league

Have you heard what Bilic had to say on the matter? He is in full agreement with you.

He's basically saying that the top clubs can only have so many top players and now due to the money in the game the traditional smaller clubs are closing the gap.
His theory is that top clubs already have great players, so despite having more money can only really improve so much. Whereas the mid table sides now have the opportunity to improve greatly. I guess his point, it's easier to improve on James Tompkins than Vincent Kompany.

There is now also the situation where in the past. West Brom would have had to sell Berahino to Spurs, Spurs would have had to sell to bring him in.
Now West Brom don't need to sell and can also add Rondon. In the past they'd have needed to raise funds by selling their players to reinvest. Now teams can keep their best players and invest in better.
In the past Spurs would have had to sell to strengthen. Now they can keep all their best players and still add top quality.
Back to Bilic's point, how do Spurs improve on Kane? Or their back 4? Not easy. They can improve their squad but will struggle to improve their best xi. West Ham, Everton, Southampton et al will keep their best and add. Thus closing the gap.

So every PL team will have top quality all over. This will as you say, close the gap.

The money should ensure that the Prem will continue to throw up surprises. Remain competitive. When Villa who are 20th have players on £70k a week and spent £50+ million in the summer are compared to the likes of Lavante or Verona or or Newcastle to Granada or Frosione who have spent and pay buttons it's obvious to see why the strugglers can compete with anyone.
Yesterday I was actually surprised that Sunderland didn't beat Arsenal.
The title race this season will cause a seismic ripple for years to come. It's just a pity this is happening now when we're nearer the top than the bottom as we could have done with this during the Pearce era!

Jesus, Pearce spending money doesn't bare thinking about.

I assume 'Beanie' was his chief scout.

Never mind the title race, the battle for top 4 next season will be a right bun fight. Chelsea will surely be better, Liverpool have got some momentum with Klopp, Spurs will be up there for a few years with the age of squad they have, Leicester will be a possibility again if they can keep key players, then throw in us, Arsenal and even United. And if we all take points off each other that could let in someone else again, West Ham, Southampton, Burnley, jeez anyone!

We could draw 3, win 3 of our last 6 games, still finish 2nd & win the CL.

You stated...(We could draw 3, win 3 of our last 6 games, still finish 2nd & win the CL.)
So 3 wins in CL means we won it
So the other 3 games we have to play are league games..
3 draws and still finish 2nd you said..spurs are 4 points ahead off us now with a game in hand
So the MATHS are we draw the last 3 & were still 1 point behind spurs as it stands now
So how are your maths right

We could win the c/l with 2 draws, 3 if you include a final going to penalties.

I agree, prem league will be a different beast from now on. I see top 4 (no order) being Us, Pool, Chelsea & scum. I feel Arse with Arse in charge will be the ones to lose out

Rachel Riley is appointed the head of the new Eufa - how the hell do we get out of this? - committee.

The bit I don't agree with is about Leicester taking their foot off the gas. Why would they? Have you ever known a team who are going for the title trot out onto a pitch thinking, "no worries today lads, we can lose this one 'cause we've always got next week". MAKES NO LOGICAL SENSE TO ME.

Nor me. Also, they will want as many big scalps as they can take along the way to winning it
