The battle for 4th place

Well okay. If you can actually do that without even mentioning yourself then I guess so.

The only reason anyone thinks I was talking about myself (when I wasn't and didn't) is because you keep insisting so. Doubt anyone else on the forum was thinking other than what I said. Some people DID predict why we needed a full strength side today. Not because it was genius. It wasn't. That is the worry.

Of course, they also saw the reasons why MP would not pick such a side through force of circumstance.

Presumably seeing more than that you are psychic.

So did we win the CL please? Put us out of our misery.
Your robust outpourings vindicating what others (and definitely not you) had predicted marks you out as an unreconstituted altruist. The fact it happens to replicate what you have posted is merely happenstance, of course.

Um, okay....but now I need google. :)

Seriously, does it matter?

We have great things to look forward to Wednesday and next season.

Today - awful as it was - also saw the birth of a new City hero. Who will thrive under Pep and could win us the Europa League and the CL before he is 21.

So fussing over some nonsense over who posted what when is not worth bothering this forum with any further.

Hence this is my last word on it. Night night.

Ok.

I'm still confident we'll at least get 4th, it's in our own hands really to get 3rd place by beating Arsenal, there's also West Ham vs United(the two teams that have a chance of snatching top4 have to play each other that's quite fortunate for us) a draw there would be the best case scenario, shame the game comes after the Arsenal match though.

I've got a really bad feeling that we will get royally fisted in Madrid, then end up playing like a Scottish pub team and end up 5th!!

Did you voice this in the pre match thread? Not trying to be funny, but very few complained about the team when it was announced. Just seams like people are now using hindsight to have a pop.

No I didn't quote it at all. I am sick of trying to understand the logic so the team sheet is never a surprise.

It's his complete lack of faith in younger players that has cost us.
It means he has to play shite like Kolorov when after that Newcastle game he should never have played for us again.

MP is putting the CL first.
And you know what? I agree with that.
We have more chance of winning the thing this season than we do in 2016/7. That is just the law of probabilities.
We will get top 4 anyway as we will beat Arsenal with the first team.
Roll on Wednesday!!!!!

Dropped a huge bollock today and instead of giving us a comfortable 7 point lead, we're now, in my opinion, living far too dangerously. Given the rags dropped points we had a huge opportunity to push on but now we're in a situation where we have to beat Arsenal to give ourselves a realistic chance of finishing fourth, and given our record against top teams, I don't see it. Granted, the game on Wednesday is huge, but for me qualifying for next seasons champions league is more important. We don't qualify and we have gone backwards, and it's a catastrophe to have the best manager in the world come in and not be in Europes top competition.

I think yesterday's performance means that the team that plays on Wednesday will more or less have to go again on Sunday, no matter how exhausted they may be. Our chances of beaing Arsenal have dipped a bit after yesterday.

Am I right in thinking any win in our final 2 games will be enough if the Hammers v Scum ends a draw taking into account our far supperior Goal Difference?

I think we'll get 4th but with the money we've spent and with the squad that we have, finishing 4th is a pretty dire return.

Absolutely, but don't be surprised if MP rotates his full backs again - just to piss us all off.

Then rotate someone other than Kolorov at left back. As he is effectively on strike he should just have his contract terminated tomorrow and be told to fuck off.

It's jolly exciting don't you think? Loving the drama of it possibly going down to the last day, how can fans complain about anything? We've got our money's worth, winning 4-0 one week and getting beat 4-2 the next....c'mon it's fantastic, it's what we're all about, it's typical city not being typical city. Let's get on it for these next 3.. ( maybe 4?) games and have a ball. No need to get down, Greater things are on the horizon.

The man has no interest in Manchester City. He wants the CL on his cv. He's fucking 60 ffs it's not like he needs to impress to get work and enhance his career. I always had him down as a clown,a charming one but a clown non the less. now though he's gone beyond that, he's quite obviously stitching Pep up out of sheer bitterness. A guy in the pub down here was defending him when I asked a few simple questions.
1, given the time he's been in the game why on earth could he not see what the kid could do earlier and play him over bony ?

2, we all had rashford and his pace rammed down our throats, why then would you pitch him against an aging MDM in the Derby?

3, the first 2 questions are about opinion but this is basic football management. yesterday we were getting battered, very lucky to be only 2-1 at half time. why on earth having got to half time did he not change a single thing, not one.did he think there was some miracle about to happen or something?

The guy in the pub had no answers.

I do, the man is deliberately hurting us. can't see any other reason.
