The battle for 4th place

Top four went a few weeks ago for me can't see us doing it they're just not good enough.

Arsenal will take at least a point and the away game at Swansea will be the usual farce away from home.

I've resigned myself to the fact Pep will not have CL next year I just hope it's West Ham and not the rags who take our place.

Imagine if you had dates lined up with supermodels on Sunday and Wednesday. Would you:

a) Rise to the occasion, or
b) Bomb one of them out in favour of a quiet wank?

Rise to both occasions and have a quick wank in between, just to keep my hand in?

It is just how this season has gone. Like Leicester (according to local legend) had the uncovering of the King's body in a car park and his burial urging them on we must have upset some spirits from the Temperance movement on the old Maine Road housing site where they have been building.

At least I have given MP a new excuse for post match interviews as his current ones are getting a bit repetitive.

"It's important we no upset Temperance spirits by only giving them three days before an important game."

And to think we mocked the pundits who predicted we'd finish 5th......

More than one poster here was ostentatiously proclaiming they were bookmarking posts with people saying we were going to have to fight for fourth place after the Liverpool and Stoke games.

Funnily enough now we are probably not going to get fourth.

It will either be third because we beat Arsenal (and if we do we will beat Swansea)

Or fifth if we lose to Arsenal and end up behind whoever wins the West Ham v United CL decider.

Or, even better, the one we later scupper by winning the CL.

Thank fuck for that, it's nailed on for us now pmsl

Watching Spuds with their vibrant, hard working unit and Leicester graft their way to the Champions of the EPL shows how very poor we have been. We have defo been done dry by the team, manager and managenent this year. Shocking!!

In 1970 Joe Mercer and Big Mal faced the same situation. United on the Saturday and Schalke away a few days later in the ECWC Semi final. They played our strongest team in each game and we got through. Why we didn't do the same. (Thanks to Gary James) for pointing this out.

If Bayern don't go through on Tuesday and we don't go through on Wednesday, I'd sack Pelligrini and appoint Pep and give him two games to secure our and his Champions league spot next season.

Our current manager has no interest in City beyond his own CV.

If we get to the final of the Chumps league that will look great for him, and no-one will question that we only finished whatever in the League.

In no other industry would this have been allowed to happen. When he came out and stated he would not be renewing his contract back in January/February, the club should have sent him on gardening leave, and brought in a stop game manager.

In those days the "sports scientists" we're not running the show. Now they are the equivalent to the IT department and the Health and Safety lot rolled into one.

It would be pointless bringing in Pep at this late stage. He will want to change the whole style of play and there is not way he can make much of an impact in two days.

Besides Bayern are not likely to want to make life easier for City.

This is probably the case. I also think its clear that mp is working to a script handed down from above, and like it or not everything (including top four it would seem) is lower in priority than progress in the cl. I expect this is to do with global marketing rather than keeping any of us happy.
Are we actually in a financial position to be relaxed about no cl for a year while pep rebuilds?
