Kelechi Iheanacho

He is a goal scorer no more no less in my opinion! He's young so still has plenty of time to improve but I can honestly say his all round game hasn't impressed much so far! Even against Southampton when he scored both his hold up play and slack passing was there for all too see, he was just lucky the majority of the rest of the players were total wank!

He seems to have a great attitude, And a clear eye for goal! The future is bright for him but other areas of his game need some vast improvement!

He's scored 5 in the 4 he has started

5 games.

He was good in 2 of them, the 2 opponents it makes sense to start him against.

Maybe he would have done better vs Real, Arse and today had he got more minutes throughout the season off the bench.

Yes, at 19 Messi has been playing in the Barça first team for two years and scored 17 goals that season; at 19 CRonaldo played 40 games for United; at 19 Kun had been at Atléti for two years and scored 27 goals that season.

Kun scored 27 goals, but he played 3741 minutes.
Kelechi scored more than half that (14 goals), was younger by 4 months and played only 1198 minutes (32% of what Aguero played).
Yes, obviously their seasons have been comparable. Kelechi had a few poor games, a few exceptional games, a few good games. Very raw, but he has had several games where he was obviously the best player on our team.

And overall Kelechi has had more of an impact lately than Kun, who seems to have tailed off by the end of the season.

BTW: If you watch all the games with Iheanacho, he just doesn't work well with Aguero. He looks much better when Aguero isn't playing. Basically two quite similar players and Aguero seems to not like playing with Kelechi (stealing his thunder?).

He looks better on instinct to me, when he's had a bit of time to think his decision making has let him down a bit. Still a young lad though and that will come. One of the few positives to take from this season.

He has world class potential and those suddenly expressing doubt need to think carefully about what we have here.

His first games in the first team have yielded one of the world's best goals per minute records. In a team not in great form and with sporadic appearances, he has done brilliantly.

Yep he could have had more with better composure and touch.

What I liked about him is that he never let his head go down and I would have liked Aguero or someone to pick him up, encourage him etc.

With an arm around him from Pep he will only get better.

At least his showings in the last 2 games means his agent might keep his gob shut for a bit...£150,000pw...yeah, right. Keep your head down young lad, work harder and don't even start thinking you are anywhere near being the finished article. Pep will sort things out

Apparently the agent believes he deserves as much as Sterling. Argument two is that he helped us save on big transfer fees. Can't really argue with either points though...

Still think its way too much, but I can see the logic of the argument.

needs to work on his touch.

i also think guardiola needs to work on the partnership between him and kun because i just don't see it at the moment. it's happens is moments rather than fluently for 90 mins.

Martin Samuel in his article says he isn't clinical which is very harsh

One of the rare occasions where Mr Samuel talks shit given his goals per minute and conversion stats.

that said, he was crap again today but he is a kid, just a kid and we all know his potential is through the roof.

He needs to work on his touch, but sometimes his touch can be brilliant (like before the slip).

Yeah on point two. Aguero and Iheanacho seem to be totally amiss, to the point that I feel there is negative tension between them. Its like they are competing, not cooperating.

He's been woeful two weeks in a row and I suspect that Manuel was justified in playing him selectively. Obviously, he needs to play to get experience but getting the balance right is not easy. I would not have started him - evidence on Twitter - but he did score early; however he also cost us a goal. Rawer than a steak tartare.

Cant be easy working with Kun. He, Kun, is on a different planet to most but it´s double-difficult for the young lad as the pressure is on to not cock it up. Hopefully he continues to improve and learns to play with the best striker in the world.

Agree completely mate and its the reason why a few on here have said, slowly slowly all season with regards to him.

Like all players, he will have crap games and he has just had 2 on the trot, albeit he got the ll important goal today but it became almost gospel on here this season that he was the second coming of Christ and had he played every game we would have won 5-0 which of course was pie in the sky.

We have one of the brightest talents in world football who will learn how to play the game under Pep and we have to be patient.
