Someone pointed out to me today that because I have an Irish grandfather (from Cork) I & my 2 sons can apply for Irish citizenship by registering on the Irish Foreign Births Register, this then allows us to apply for Irish passports giving us dual citizenship,
I might look in to it if it's an out vote, more for my kids than me as my youngest may want to work on the continent after leaving uni.

Hi mate...every situation different and dont know how easy it is to do but I know a couple that that have already done the same...They are also eligible(grandparents) for a dual Irish-British passport and they've already applied for the Irish passport for them and their children as there daughter travels around Europe with work and she has already been told there could be difficulty doing so in the future, if we "leave".....Having the Irish passport will mean they can travel freely....

Looks like Tusk is starting to smell the coffee. In an interview yesterday:

"As a historian I fear Brexit could be the beginning of the destruction of not only the EU but also Western political civilisation in its entirety," he told the German newspaper Bild.

I dod not think that we were that important - perhaps he should have made more effort during those 'negotiations'.

Indeed how important are we, not bad for a much malinged country. Well so be it if we can free Europe once again, this time by accelerating the demise of this unworkable doomed union.

I suppose the Sun will counteract to some extent the amount of brainwashing coming out of the BBC every fucking night. They were at it again last night. They have no shame.

There are supporters on both sides that make people cringe. George Galloway needs to keep out of view for Brexit as does Eddie Izzard for remain.

Can someone in simple terms explain to me why we would rather stay in a Political union whose economic growth is falling rather than freely trade with the commonwealth (2 billion people) or NAFTA.

Mind you even if the economic arguments are in favour of remain I would still vote out personally. The remain camp don't have an argument against uncontrolled immigration ( Lord Rose admitted that free movement of people reduced the wages of the lowest paid) which is only gonna get worst when Turkey joins and the corruption in the EU makes the 2009 expenses scandal look like childs play.

And the argument against uncontrolled immigration from the exit people is what?
Cannot trade with EU without allowing freedom of movement.

If you follow his probable line of thinking he is dead right. It goes like this:- If we leave the EU other states will want their own referendums and they will probably vote leave as well. It will snowball into a collapse of the Union. Then what happens? What happens is that the migrants keep on heading for Mother Merkel's Germany and Germany will be left alone on the Continent to take the lot. At what point does Germany have a civil revolution and take up arms to stop the invasion to their country? Particularly when half of Turkey along with all the other chancers are trying to help themselves to what Germany has earned for itself.
So yes, the 'destruction of Western (German) civilised society' is entirely possible and probably likely within the next decade. Germany at war with itself.

When I catch a bus I look at the front to see where it's going before I get on. Where is the European bus going? On the front it has Political and Fiscal Union. I now realise I am on the wrong bus, it's time to get off.
