Does anyone think like me, that a significant number of people (not everyone but a significant number) believe that when Turkey get visa free access they will, in effect, be "IN" the EU. Whether or not they're part of the political union and sat at all the decision making tables and forums is irrelevant to most, the fact their citizens can travel visa free means to the average man in the street they're in!

I accept that many of the intellectual posters on here will destroy the arguement about whether that they're in or not, because we all know they're not actually in, but I am trying to look at it from the perspective of the person in the street.

I would consider this alongside the prospect that all the migration into Germany and the rest of the EU - millions - which we are 'protected from'.

How long will have to pass before these migrants become EU citizens in their adopted country? Then they have full rights to travel to the UK.

Re your comment on Turkey - why should the concern that you suggest not be a reality? The EU have clear 'previous' in its desire to expand eastwards and to avoid any 'difficulties' that get in the way. These steps nicely advance a lot of membership benefits whilst avoiding the scrutiny of conformance to the required criteria.

It is an interesting 'coincidence' that all the decisions on this - and associated discussion - as been put back to after the referendum - another example of EU duplicity.

Not happy about the Sun backing leave

Think it will hinder rather than help
Depends how you vote. From your comment, I'm assuming you're out, in which case you probably couldn't be more wrong.
Since 1979 they've backed the winner of every general election bar 2010. Even then, they supported the Conservatives who, whilst not winning an overall majority, did see Cameron as Prime Minister.

To answer your last question... People can see we dot gave infrastructure to support 300,000 more peopl. It's that simple. We do nit have the capacity in our schools, we do not have enough GPs, our hospitals are overcrowded and creaking. That is why it's a problem to the UK. I'm not suggesting other countries don't have the same problems, but to the UK population the above is why the free movement of people is a problem to the Uk! And they're right to view it that way too!

Thanks, but I was thinking more why is large scale immigration a probelm that seems unique to the UK. Why isn't Austria or Denmark facing a similar situation?

300,000 is only 0,5% per year in a population of 60 Million. It really shouldn't be a problem for an economy (a government) to cope with that sort of growth, if it wanted to. There will be far bigger stresses on the economy if the UK leave.

I agree but I think the main problem in the UK is people are already genuinely suffering from overcrowding, not everywhere but in many critical hotspots and if there is no willing desire shown by the government to invest in the infrastructure, which there isn't, people are going to react... as it appears they are doing!

They're giving us a fancy new railway and the garden bridge, which looks lovely. Ta Boris.

I refuse to indulge racist scum

It's the only card Brexit are now playing because they have lost every other argument.
You've clearly not read The Telegraph today then where Norman Lamont has penned a great article showing that being outside the EU has little downside. EU tariffs are very low and are therefore little bar to trade involving non members. Not only that but trade between the EU and major non-member gas boomed while trade between the UK and EU has largely stagnated.

Here's the leaflet that I got through the door the other day from leave (sorry its too big to post on page) But can anybody spot the deliberate mistakes i.e. which country's are labelled and which ones are labelled yet have no intentions of ever joining to. Okay there're a few more too but this pretty little picture epitomises what is wrong with this campaign.

Wow....hadnt seen this before..thanks mate...you'd almost think he's for "staying" ;)

Of course - no more fulsome than Cameron's pledge to pave the way between Ankara and Brussels

That said, you have to LOL at the comparison with his comments in that vid and his recent comments on the next stage of EU expansion - but in the end all it means is that it is more evidence that politicians cannot be trusted to keep the never-ending EU expansion in check.

I still think it was odd that when it was announced we were going forward with the referendum, he spent three days supposedly agonising over which side he was going to support but now it seems he has absolutely no doubts and remaining would be terrible. I doubt he did anything in those three days other than agonise over which side he needed to support to give himself the best chance of becoming prime minister. In that sense I think he chose well, shame I think he has let himself and the whole country down just to help achieve that one selfish aim. The man is a narcissist IMO.
