The Stone Roses/Ian Brown

Fella told me he wasnt arsed and just waved me through

Got it in but they were pretty thorough with the searches going into the South Stand so had to hide it.

Thought Public Enemy were shit.Roses were okay but no encore and didn't play Beautiful Day which I thought they would.

Does anybody know the origins of the karaoke crowd singalong gig?

Was it those lazy OAsis gigs where they couldnt be arsed so the crowd sang for them, that started it cos I don't ever remember any gigs in the where the whole fucking crowd would sing along for the whole setlist.

I liked it when oasis let the crowd sing parts of a song.

Can't believe the amount of negative views for the Roses on Bluemoon. That gig was amazing last night, Reni and Squire 10/10, amazing musicians. Everything about that gig was perfect last night, the atmosphere was unreal, everyone bopping was th smiles on the face with no trouble in sight. We went Northern Quarter before and after and it was rocking in every bar. If it wasn't for the misses I would do it all over again tonight

John Squires is still fucking amazing , thought it was pretty good last night glad I went

I think most of the negative comments surround the quality of Brown's voice when singing live - I don't see much criticism with the other three? Even avid fans of the band have said they're put off by his singing and it seems this problem can have a tendency to ruin some of their gigs. However, it also comes across to me that the crowd often make a Roses gig a special occasion and if they're bang up for it (as it sounded from your own experience last night) then that can help drown out any issues with Brown's singing.

I've got tickets for tomorrow night and hoping that's the case because if the crowd are flat I can't see Brown being capable of lifting them.

I was very skeptical about 'the second coming' but they were fucking outstanding last night and I was sober. You forget how many great songs they actually have, love how they didn't do an encore too, no need for it.

Adele does it, when she can't hit the high notes she just points the mic to the crowd so they sing it instead! So you could imagine with Ian Brown's voice the crowed singing the whole set isn't a bad thing.

It's not great when you're relying on the crowd to do the singing for you.Surprised at Adele though, to be honest. And she hasn't got the ready made excuse that she can't sing!

Yeah Sia said Adele gave her the tip when she went on tour. You find most do it these day's, apparently in Japan when at concerts people don't sing as they consider it disrespectful, over here and America though the performers encourage it, especially the likes of Robbie Williams.

Heard tunes being played about 12 ish from where I live last night what time did it finish?

The set finished about 11.15 on wednesday when I went well peeved:-(

That is fucking awful. Sounds like some tone deaf eedjit won a competition to front them.

Hahahaha believe me mate Coldplay it wasn't and some people on here were slagging off Coldplay they were Epic..

Hilarious that anyone can slate Coldplay as they're one of the best live acts on the planet and have never put on a bad gig on the 7 occasions I've seen them. I can only think that it's not very "trendy" to like them and that's coming from someone who is going tomorrow night and puts the Stone Roses debut album up there as one of the best albums I've ever heard. I really hope that video isn't an indication of what to expect when I go - the rest of the band sound fine but Brown has utterly murdered it.

Hit the nail on the head. They haven't got the "street cred" that the Roses or T** S****s have. The fact that they put on a decent live show and they have a singer who can actually sing (regardless of whether you like their type of music or not) is lost on those hip young dudes on here who think that Brown or M*******y are the second coming.

Hence the reason I sold my tickets. After initial excitement I heard the new song and remembered his vocals last time and thought bollocks I saving £200 plus if you count the full day cost.

spoiling the memories for me now. I get youngsters new to them going if you hear that first album as it a classic but nothing much since
